Default Your view on Man of the Match

Khulna Royal Bengals vs Barisal Burners

Shafiul got both wicket that could make a major difference. 8 to 9 overs of Chris Gayle means chasing a big total. Shafiul deserves the MoM. This mentality of batsmen getting all the MoM is discouraging for any bowlers.

Dhaka Gladiators vs Chittagong Kings

Elias Sunny's 3/17 was the key. Another one went to the batsmen.

It does go to show that cricket, and especially T20 cricket, is a batsmen's game.

I think in these particular instances the decisions are justified, however, in general, I do agree that batsmen are favoured for MoMs more than bowlers. Pollard definitely deserves the MoM for his innings. When he came out to bat the match was in the balance, perhaps even tilted towards Chittagong, but he turned it around along with Stevens and remained unbeaten. The first match is more debatable. Had Shafiul not removed the opening duo it wouldn't be wrong to say that perhaps the outcome of the match itself would have been different. But in general a 50 is rated higher than a 2 wicket haul. But then again with the sheer weight associated with the two wickets that Shafiul picked up it can be argued that his was the match-winning performance. It's a 50-50 call and since I didn't watch the match I won't be making it.

If I recall, ICC has passed a resolution specifically that Shafiul could never be awarded MoM, right before the WC. That was the reason Tamim and Imrul enjoyed their prizes against IRE and ENG respectively.

I think so too...and BPL adopted the resolution as well. Poor Shafiul He deserved to get the MOM awards in all three games (IRE, ENG, BPL Match no. 7)

Hmmm....

How about we in BC declare our own man of the match? After each day's game, we will vote on our Men of the Matches and we can create a sticky thread to recognize OUR choice.

Good idea. Would that be under one thread for the whole tournament or separate one for each match.

On a serious note I would like to hear/read coach Ian Ponts view on this topic. General view about bowlers always getting over looked when it comes to MoM.

Whatever works. Perhaps, we open a thread to vote per game but we have one sticky - 'Today's MOM' where we we add one post per MOM per match.

I thought Gayle deserved to get the MOM today (Match # 10) not Azhar Mahmood.

Biased aside:
100 in 20 over match is unthinkable for BD players. It is similar to 170ish in ODIs and 250 in Test for them.

Gayle should have gotten that one. May be joint MoM. BPL'er onek poisha asey.

No question about Marlon Samuels contribution and well deserved MoM.

As for second match I will give it to Azhar as he has contributed with both bat and ball. Gayle should only get it if he won the match.

What's the point of scoring a century if your team ends up in loosing side.

Mushy did win it. Shahzaib just thought he had when he was being interviewed.

^Yeah Cricinfo still showing Shahzaib won it. But Mushy actually got it. I saw the presentation. I want my 100 FL points.
http://digicricket.marssil.com/match...op=2&match=174

And regarding the earlier match who is going to get the 100 points for FL? Riyad or Zia. Riyad won it officially and rightfully imo.

Should be Riad but only beacuse of he scored 50 and hit the last 6. If Zia scored another 4 runs, then it would have been different case.

Thats why I said earlier "Riyad roobed it from Zia" not the official
