Let's talk video games

I'm starting this thread so that everyone can discuss their favourites games, consoles and any related topics from any era or genre to their heart's content.

I'll start with an update for the PSP.

It is now officially possible to purchase/run PS1 games. Currently the emulation only allows games bought from Playstation store, but if you're smart you can play your existing collection, legally.

Thankfully I held onto my precious collection. That means means a PSP can now be used for:

- Movies
- Music
- Web Browser
- RSS Feed aggregator
- PsOne
- N64
- SNES
- NES/SMS
- TurboGraphix-16
- Genesis
- GBA/ WonderSwan
- Homebrew applications

My fav game in PC is Rise of Nations (RTS). Hands down one of best strategy games ever made.

Long long time ago, in galaxy far far away, in 1994 I used to be crazy about DOOM. Then Quake3 for sometime. Now, not much into FPS anymore.

In consoles my fav game is Mortal Kombat. Love it since MK2. Now playing the newest one MK Armageddon.

NES - TMNT 2, Dragon Warrior, Duck Hunt, Super Mario Brothers 3

SNES - Super Mario World, NBA Live 96, TMNT 4, Street Fighter 2

Genesis - NBA Jam TE

N64 - Madden NFL 99, Mario 64

Xbox - Halo, Halo 2, Ninja Gaiden, Madden NFL 2005, Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind

never owned the gensis...played at my friends house

Another Rise of Nations fan

Did you try the new Rise of Legends? Maybe not as great as Rise of Nations, but very enjoyable.

test drive ( at that time the only driving game )

raptor ( best ever of its type till now )

Yea, played it, but didn't like it. Completely new style of gameplay, nothing to do with RoN at all. They just created a whole new game. I was hoping they would improve on RoN and create something even better.

Once you get used to the world of RoL, then it's a very nice game. Actually it's a good thing that they created a similar, yet totally new game. RoN had very little room for further improvement in terms of gameplay. They could make it 3D, but that doesn't add anything to RTS games.

The thread title says favourite video games but we have members like Ferdous Bhai and Hatebreed listing all the games they played in their life or is it that they have so many favourite games which would mean they are gaming almost 24/7 !!!!!

Title says "Let's talk video games" so you can talk about anything relevant.

al Furqaan bhai and Ferdous bhai listed their all-time favourites so I listed mine.. it's harder to decide just one than beat them all... and yes, I've played and enjoyed many more.

) around 25, skinny ,tall.

anyway not a hardcore gamer. i think u all already know that , cause i like the nintendo wii. hey atleast it wasnt named failure of the year by Time magazine

Sorry my bad regarding the thread title!! I meant to say you guys have so many fav. games that it goes to show how crazy gamers you are !!! Got your answer for that as well.

How about a multi-player BC tournament someday?

Omio: I heard C2007 has many glitches (specially with names of BD players). Is that true?

Pro Evolution এর চেয়ে ফিফা আমার কাছে অনেক বাস্তব এবং খেলতে অনেক বেশী সমৃদ্ধ মনে হয়।

hmm it depends, though pro evolution looked more fun to me ( played the beta only ).

so i use PS2 for games

ummm Pro Evo is an excellent multiplayer football sim. FIFA doesnt even compare. Ar realism er kotha bolte gele Pro Evo theke real ar kichu hoi na... Its actually hard to even comprehend what you can do in Pro Evo in terms of hitting realism.

Playing Pro Evo 6 on X360 now and Gears of War. 360 has some insanely good games on it. And Gears of War looks so good on HD. And been playing the Wii too a lot these days. But only the Wii Sports one. Baseball is freaking awesome and so is tennis when playing 2 player. Havent started on Zelda but its nested nicely on my shelf.

All my gaming time is currently being taken up by World of Warcraft. Have a level 49 Human Warrior and man that game is addictive. My whole winter vacation was easten up by this game.

PSP is now my default emulation platform. Played Chrono Trigger all over again and the sudden bursts of old Arcade side scrolling plane shooters. Those game always get my adrenaline pumping.

Any BC member in Kent area who wants a taste of the X360 or the Wii are welcome for a R&R in my place anytime.

PSP bags an Emmy at CES 2007 for "Outstanding Innovation and Achievement in Advanced Media Technology". Sony won another in tie with Nintendo for "Peripheral Development and Technological Impact of Video Game Controllers".
