Default Let this harmony define us

Let this harmony define us: Zuma

"What is happening in the country at the moment is a marvel to watch," President Jacob Zuma said as South Africa celebrated the 50-day countdown to the 2010 Fifa World Cup. "This harmony should define us, and resonate in a wide range of spheres, even outside sport."

World Cup impact 'still massive'

R93-billion gross, 695 000 annual jobs sustained, once-in-a-lifetime profiling of the country, and 370 000 foreign tourists – a smaller number, but staying longer and spending more than originally forecast. Consultancy Grant Thornton gives its post-recession projections on the economic impact of the 2010 Fifa World Cup

Nice thread.
This is a temporary surge in the local economy with a short term impact on the micro level.
When the buble is over, most of the cities languish over their long term debt.

Nice, typical preaching that we get from the prolific political figures in SA.
But the reality is different given that we have severe resource constrain, some people/group want other's share as well to have more, hoard more, cherish more, have some other henious agenda, then this nice dream for harmony and its positive impact are severely constrained.
