Thanks BANFAN. Also, if BCB emphasize coaching experience they can go for Tom Moody.

Why do they have to rush getting the coach when we are rarely playing international cricket and have an interim coach who is having success?

Seriously, BCB has no business case for an immediate hire-- rarel Test cricket, successful interim coach, and moreover, BPL franchisee will bring in some coach exepertise themselves which will give BCB to check them out for free...

Second part is a valid argument, first part is not. Coaching is a long term thing, and to reap the most benefit, it has to be done slowly taking all the time it needs. Crash course before the international matches do not work.

The first part is not, as so there is no rush to bring in a WRONG person, either. Sonce "Coaching is a long term thing," one hired now, will not make much impact in the long run, any more than one hired 6 months from now. Hence, just wait for the right person to walk in. Obviously, this does not mean that they go to sleep. Better hire a good guy 6 months from now, than a wrong guy now...like Lee and the SA smuck.

Siddons knows a lot about Bangladesh cricket, seems to have built up good relationships here and is a good coach. Hopefully for you guys he gets signed up again.

Well this time he is coming as an batting consultant, so he wont be able to work on other players who wont be part of the main squad.

And he likes Naeem

Funny thing, nothing on the local media yet.
I'd rather have him working with the younger lads in the Academy/A Team and Age groups.

Still not sure what impact he might have if he is with the national team.
He was the Head Coach not so long ago and have a sphere of influence within the team and the players. If his ego gets in the way with the new Head Coach, patronized by clique of players, we might again have a dysfunctional team divided into many sub groups, just as we have seen during the later stage of his tenure. The world cup was a disaster.

The aftermath ? Last Zimbabwe tour was ugly, plain simple ugly. Since then, Law and Mushy has done a great job bringing the team together as an unit and that unified result was visible last year in Asia Cup and WI series.

I hope he would understand that.

You dont know the whole story do you. That position was for Rokibul but his name was crossed off by some delegates (rumors). Thats when it all started for Rock. Then he protested and we branded him as Drama queen. Rock was the first victim of Lotus Kamal then it was Shakib,Tamim and I think Mushy had a little dose also. Fortunately for Shakib,Tamim and co they learned from Rock incident and dealt with the matter much professionally.

I forgot Ashraful was also a victim of Lotus. Does not matter whether a player is good or bad you don't go around telling TV media that Ash will be out for long time.

TBH I dont want to see Rock back in national squad, but he or any player should not be victimized by any BCB morons.

Victims? In national team, there is no room for victims and drama queens and excuses. Either you are a hero or you are a villain. You wait for you chance and push for a better case so that they cannot ignore you, and once you get that chance you nail it...you get nailed ...you play by the rule (written and unwrietten) and kill it or get killed.... no room to play blaming game.

You may have to work a little bit harder then the other guy... and you may get less chance than the other guy before you are dropped... but if you cannot use the opportunity or walk out from the opportunity... then its only you who should be blamed... not ypour luck ... not because you are a victim.

This is the reality of BCB. So the best way for BD player is understand the reality and not to miss any opportunity (when it comes).

Mehrab got his opportunity, and he also squandered his chance and career by becoming a drama queen. Then he got another chance, so he should be feel lucky, not victim.

There will always be raodblock (rightfully or wrongfully imposed to them), some cross the roadblock one way or another, others stop there and cry in front of roadbloack and play victim game. That's the difference between successful player and unlucky player.

To me consistently "unlucky" player is glorified version of "unsuccessful" player... it's kind of politely saying "you are no good at this level".
