My ZIM test squad:
Visu Sibanda
Brandan Taylor
Hamilton Masakadza
R Chakavba
Tatenda Taibu
Craig Ervine
Chuck Norris (c)
Elton Chigumbura
Prosper Utseya
Chris Mpofu
Keegan Meth

If anyone can lead this team to victory against Bangladesh, Chuck Norris can.

I highly disagree with debuting new comers. We want to make a strong statement, bulldoze them and make records. Not get sissy and start experimenting with tukkur-tukkur lokkor-bokkor team. Go for the gut, with glut.

(Edit: Maybe Hom. I think I saw a brief clip where he looked like a flat track bully. Any one got access to any video footages?)

I have already given the analysis of Mushi and his antics. Naeem is not suited for this format. Hom unproven. He needs more time. Should be broken in to the ODI squad first. So the safest route is Rok. Rok in other formats, is a strict NO.

Jaharul's bad luck has given Mushi another opportunity to show his chilla chilli.

I prefer Hom in the Test against Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe attack is hardly threatening and also in the Test format Hom would not face any pressure of scoring runs quickly. In a test He would get two chances and it will be a good examination of his technique and ability stay at the crease for long periods. We would probably learn more about him in one test match then we would in a whole ODI series where he would have to bat low in the order and start hitting early.

In this tour we need to give a couple of new faces a chance in our batting line up. We did stick with the present group consisting Rock,Ash, Junaid, Naeem till the world cup. I know ODIs and Tests are different but I still can't get over how poorly we batted in our home soil during the WC. Whats the worse that could happen if any of these guys sit out for a series? A new face will find it much easier debuting against Zimbabwe than the stronger teams we will have to face afterward. I say we blood in at least one of them.

Naeem is perfectly suited for longer version. He may not have the technique but against ZIM he should be fine.

Mushy is a technically sound player and also more suited to Tests than the limited overs. Ideally he should not be keeping, but its foolish to leave him out altogether.

None of what you just said made any sense. How is Naeem not suited to this format? I would argue he is more suited to this format than any other. Fine there is justification to drop Mushy as a keeper but to pick Rock ahead of him as a batsman tells me you harbour a grudge against him. And Jahirul will keep wicket and bat at number 3? And you think he'd be in consideration had it not been for the infection? Do you know how he performed in South Africa with the "A" team?

Way too early to create a team. Let them play a few matches first. But, I am opposed to any idea of five left handers filtering through no 1-5. Its a tactical mistake and we should avoid it. However, no.1-3 does not need any change, and I would want Tamim, Kayes, Zunaid there. No.4 has to be a solid right hander. The candidates : Rok ( ?? ), Hom ( maybe ), Riyad ( he gets my nod ). I will drop Sakib to no.6, followed by Mushy at 7. No. 5 is open. 8-11 are bowlers.

What's all this talk of "dropping Shakib to 6," that's where he bats in Tests/FC matches.

  • Tamim Iqbal
  • Imrul Kayes
  • Junaid Siddique
  • Mohammed Mahmudullah
  • Mohammed Ashraful/Nassir Hossain
  • Shakib Al Hasan (C)
  • Mushfiqur Rahim
  • Shafiul Islam
  • Nazmul Hossain
  • Rubel Hossain

This is my Test Squad, and it has 3 pacers, two genuine spin-all rounders, a solid top to cover up the decent middle (yet brittle) order.
  • Tamim Iqbal
  • Imrul Kayes
  • Shahriar Nafees
  • Mohammed Mahmudullah
  • Mohammed Ashraful/Nassir Hossain
  • Shakib Al Hasan
  • Musfiqur Rahim
  • Abdur Razzak
  • Shafiul Islam
  • Nazmul Hossain
  • Rubel Hossain

This is my ODI squad, which has a now completely solid top three who are all performing consistently. The Middle order then has more balance, which leave Shakib and Mushfiqur a bit of breathing space. The bowling consists of 3 pacers who compliment each other, and the spin of Abdur Razzak in addition to Shakib and Riyad.

Zunaid Siddique, lately, is doing really well at #3. I don't know why some don't want to see him in the squad. He should definitely be picked at # 3 in both Test and ODI.
It is a good time to try out Nasir Hossain. His recent performance is quite impressive.
I really want to see Saqlain Sajib is given a chance this time. Shuruwardi has been given a chance, I want to see how Saqlain Sajib does in Test and ODI. Razzaq is definitely out in Test, but if Some don't think that Suruwardi Shuvo is not the right choice then we must try out Saqlain. I have a feeling, Razzaq's era is almost over. I am not too optimistic on our pace department except Shafiul.
what about Dhiman Gosh?

Tiger444 you have chosen Razzak in your test squard.Interestingly our selectors also thinking to play Razzak in test team against Zim due to his good record against Zim.Now my points:
1.If record against Zim is the prime concern them Enam Jn will be the first pick.
2.Razzak is very poor in longer version.Even Suhrawady will be better choice than Razzak.
So if our selectors select Razzak in test match IMO That will not be a good choice.

Razzak will be in the Test squad but will not play. They will play 3 pacers and 2 spinners (Shakib and Riyad).

But why he should be in the squard? To me for longer version Enam Jnr,Suhrawardy,Saqlain Shojib or even Elis Sunny have better record than Razzak in FC matches.

I think after the Test, Robiul, if selected, will be replaced by Rasel for the ODIs.
