Lets hope that Tigers will at least not disappoint us in the month of Ramadan. May Allah give them a fighting spirit in playing with the mighty Aussies. I wanna say just one thing to our team that if you can't play for yourselves at least for God's sake play for your country and millions of fans like us. Even a little fight will bring so many happy faces here in BC.

In the 1st One-Day International, Bangladesh in Australia, 2003 Bangladesh scored 105. In 2008 Bangladesh scored 74. There is some similarity.

2003 1st One-Day International Bowling card
Bowling O M R W
Gillespie 10 3 23 3 (3w)
Lee 8 1 25 4 (3nb, 2w)
Bichel 5 0 24 2
Hogg 10 0 27 0
Symonds 1 0 5 0

2008 1st One-Day International Bowling card
NW Bracken 6 1 23 0 3.83
SR Clark 7 1 18 1 2.57 (4w)
MG Johnson 6 1 10 2 1.66 (1w)
MJ Clarke 2 0 7 1 3.50
B Geeves 5 0 11 2 2.20
CL White 1.4 0 5 3 3.00

In 2003 the bowlers are Gillespie, Lee, Bichel, Hogg, Symonds all are famous. And most importantly they play more on International arena than in the Australian domestic league. So in 2003 both teams were foreign to the Darwin. But now MG Johnson, B Geeves, CL White are the new prospects of Australia and they are quite familiar with Darwin field and pitch. You can argue that MG Johnson is not a new bowler for Australia. But he only plays 9 tests and 40 ODIs. So I fear that this series will be more difficult and tiresome for Bangladesh. More frustrations may wait for them ahead.

Our batters should respect any Australian bowler as if they are playing McGrath ro Warne. Batting first or chasing they should target 200+, and if they can keep wickets be aggressive in the last 10 overs. Well, you do not have to ask BD tail for it.
For power plays I think one of the openers should take some risk; that is the only way we can put some runs on the board. But it also makes Ash's job difficult coming at #3 and being patient.
Commentators were saying that BD or SL batters cannot play the balls the same way as Aussie batters due to they are not tall enough; and they suggest BD batters follow the foot steps of Jayasuriya, Gavaskar and Kalicharan. Overall we lack in techniques. But we have a new geenration of batters that have betters techniquies, such as Roqibul, Mushfiq, Shakib etc.

Looking for a 50 + from ash and tamim. Otherwise, we are doomed again.

Nothing more is expected from the batters...unless Kapali decides to do a Kapali (against Aus?).

i think it's probably best to only make minimal changes. i think junaid or riyad should take mehrab's place and probably any of junaid, naeem or riyad could take raqibul's place. reza could take one of the pacers place but both mash and nazmul did a good job in the first ODI and shahadat is the only real wicket taker so i don't think leaving him out is a good idea.

thing is naeem has no international experience and junaid's been in bad form lately so neither player are an ideal replacement for raqibul. i like riyad in the team simply because he offers a different type of bowling option to those already in the team though i'm not sold these days that he's good enough with the bat to take the place of a specialist batsman. imo it's a tricky team to pick atm. if mehrab is kept then either riyad or junaid will probably get picked, if merhab isn't picked then probably both junaid and riyad will get the nod. it's just a really tough series to debut in so i'm not sure they'd go with naeem.

LOL.... This is pathetic. Ramadan, good feelings, or hope doesn't bring home wins.. A good game plan, execution, talent and skills bring home victory. LEt's pray for asraful gives up his captaincy.. Matter of fact no one in the team deserves to be a captain. Let's pray in this month of Ramadan that our players learn how to swing their bats.. and throw their bowls.
