SL's bowling is crap.
They should've played Walegedera and Prasad in this game. Where is Kulasekara and Thusara?

What a victory! What an incredible performance from England. But what else do you expect from the best team in the world? This is a clear message for the doubters that England are going to dominate world cricket in near future.

Another indicator that IPL is killing Test and quality of cricket

correction: SL just did a Pakistan.
we're better than that, 2009-present (although our collapse against India was close to this bad).

All team,we know, cannot play well all the time. If any good team did bad, than we shouldn't compare them with anyone or anything bad. That's really bad.

we are far better than this. but this is not what i am worried about. Sri Lanka's batting is still quite strong on paper, and they will come back strong in the batting front. what worries me is their bowling. either they step up big time, or they will have to be content with some batting draws and odd wins over lower teams on spinning tracks for the next few years.

Just goes to show you how difficult it is to put up a fight against England in England. Whatever we did in the last 2 tests in England is not something to brag home about, but when you compare it to the 05 tour you know it's a small step in the right direction. The problem is we should have been making these steps at a much faster rates.

well said
the english team at home are probably one of the best in the world, their beating aus in aus highlights their ability
At the same time SL are heavily reliant on 2-3 players. They're vulnerable. they needed malinga. but unfortunately malinga is an indian now

SL even after three decades suck like bangladesh outside their home...and yet people complain abt us only after 1 decade.....its really a long process......nz themselves took four-five generations of cricketers to start winning.......so people, we gotta wait, but hang on in there, we can still wi the world cup

It seems that SL really hurts from playing on slow dead tracks of SL and not playing too many test matches outside of SL. Michael Holding was talking about them not playing many test matches. They should play outside of SL more often and beat teams to become a force in tests. Their bowling is pretty poor and don't look like they can take 20 wickets. They shouldve played Welegedera instead of Lakmal. Playing just 2 pacers in english conditions is defensive. Mendis and Herath are good enough.

Sri don't have anymore world class bowlers in their current Test squad,Sri cricket board must find a way out.
On the other hand their world class batsmen like Sanga,Mahela,Samaraweera,Dilshan are all 33+.
So,Sri also need to look for their replacement when these players retire.

i dnt think we shud get excited on Sri Lanka's one bad game. if they keep losing test matches like this from now on, yes, then we can complain.
for your information, this is Sri Lanka's first innings defeat after 9 years. lets see if they lose another one by innings, then we can compare them to our team. until then, this is just a major slip up.

SL have become used to playing at home and facing India over and over again. Tremlett is not sreesanth. As good as India is, their bowling attack is not exceptional.
Then again it is one loss. But hoping for more english wins

The pipeline of players in Sri Lanka isn't to great, as they thought that they can worry about it later when they had the likes of Murali, Vaas, Sanga etc. This is one of the reasons the SPL t20 has been thought up of, to increase the level of domestic cricket.

Good point. Don't know why some people compared our performances with theirs. Didn't we lose by an innings as well? And did we score 400 even once? so the comparisons shouldn't come up. SL might not have the ability to take 20 wickets with this attack but unlike us, they have shown many times that they can score 400.
