No use. Have fieldsmen in the stands. Much better idea.

Good morning to everyone. We are here at Shere Bangla National Stadium and its a great day for some test cricket. Shafiul Islam to start with the new ball.

0.1 Islam to Chris Gayle, SIX, short and wide and Gayle whacks it over mid on for six. Great shot, poor delivery.
0.2 Islam to Chris Gayle, SIX, whats going on with Shafiul?!, bowls another short delivery after being whacked for a six and Chris Gayle hammers the ball into the stands
0.3 Islam to Chris Gayle, OUT, Oh hang on a minute, Shafiul overstepped! Islam bowls another short ball and Gayle gets caught on the boundary line. To his surprise its a no ball. Things arent looking good for Shafiul because by the looks of things he might go for 37 runs off this over.
You can only wonder what will happen when Shahadat comes into the attack.

You never know which Shahadat turns up.

Even this could happen.

Many crap players have once in a lifetime fluke like that, Shahadat is statistically in top 5 worst test bowlers to ever play the game. Gayle will thrash him and Samuels/ Chanders/ Bravo will finish the job.

One swallow doesn't make a summer, check his stats. One of the worst test bowlers to have ever played cricket.

It's very natural that the worst team in test cricket history will have the worst players in the format too... People are trying to figure out the better one amongst the worst lots... Lets find out a better 3rd pacer for the team, if he is better than Shahadat, is good for us.

If we haven't got any decent fast bowlers than we should try a medium paced swing bowler like Praveen kumar or Sohail tanvir... They could do some damage with new ball and bowl economically.. but I am probably day dreaming. If shahadat is among the best we got then we are in a very sorry state, we got only 1 test bowler in our team who is also our best batsman.

i don't think shahadat is the best we got, what happened is the selectors gave a lot of small opportunities to a lot of fast bowlers i.e. guys like dollar, sajidul, robin etc but they also gave a select few a goo number of opportunities. turns out the guys they gave opportunities to haven't come good yet i.e. shahadat, shafiul, rubel (he's come good in ODIs but not tests yet). the sajidul's and robin's and dollar's probably shouldhav been given more chances, it's not like shahadat, shafiul and rubel have cemented their places in the test team, they're numbers aren't good so it's not like they forced selection. the selectors just didn't give the others enough opportunities.

now the main issue is clearly development, there is talent there, there's a lot more that i haven't named that have strong talent and could be developed into world class fast bowlers if nurtured correctly. BD hasn't yet figured out how to develop it's pacers, that's why they struggle. a pace academy is desperately needed so the ones not in the national team get some good coaching because a lot of talent is going to waste right now.

I would've been more excited about this series had it not been scheduled to finish on the 11th of Dec- a few days before I go to BD .

Just about a month to go, BCB 'could' actually publish a schedule for the tour.
Probably won't hurt anyone if they did.

Why are we giving so many practice matches to them to adjust to the conditions?? What preparation the national team players are going to have?? I guess our players will be sitting out and watching WI play with A team or academy or reserve players... Or what's the plan? Will most of our national team get a chance to play with them in practice matches ??

Why no match at all in Ctg? I find enough time for them to travel for that...

Ctg stadium is closed for renovation.
Drainage, outfield all that, just like they did with SBNS during the off season.

^ gearing up for BPL I'm guessing. Couldn't they have done it earlier? Now the only FC league in the country won't get to use the 2nd best stadium in the country.

This years BPL will be played in MA Aziz not ZACS where the drainage renovation is taking place.

SBNCS had re-laid turf. The did not remove the soil whereas in ZACS they will have to do a bit more.
