Guys, instead of persisting with Ash at #3(where he avg 17), why don't we just drop him down the order? We desperately need a finisher in our ODI team and Ash can do that job at #6 or 7. He won't feel extra responsibility and can play his natural game, thus scoring quick runs for us. I say this should be our batting order-
Tamim
Mehrab/Imrul/Junaed
Rokibul
Mushfiq
Shakib
Ashraful
Riyad
Naeem
Razzak
Nazmul
Rubel
If he fails, Aftab or Alok can replace him in that slot as the finisher. We should stop giving up that dream of having him play at #3 and carrying the innings. Because his untimely and irresponsible outs always puts extra pressure on the team and is often the reason for our defeat. If he is to play in the current team, he should bat at 6 or 7.

We have a practice match. So, ASH and others have some chance to get some runs behind them. Also the pace bowlers need to have some practice.

Hmm.. interestingly, Ash averages 34 at #6! Much higher than his career average.. And isn't that the position where he played at the start of 07 WC? Here are his detailed batting performances in different positions-
Mat Inn. NO Run HS Avg. BF SR 100s 50s
1st position 2003-2004 6 6 0 94 66 15.66 185 50.81 0 1
2nd position 2001-2006 18 18 0 264 56 14.66 480 55.00 0 2
3rd position 2001-2009 28 28 2 443 109 17.03 674 65.72 1 1
4th position 2004-2009 44 44 2 1142 100 27.19 1504 75.93 1 8
5th position 2004-2007 22 22 2 523 87 26.15 628 83.28 0 2
6th position 2003-2007 11 11 4 239 60 34.14 280 85.35 0 2
7th position 2007-2007 3 3 2 56 45* 56.00 91 61.53 0 0

And at 7th an average of 56. Imagine at 12, Bradman would be proud.
