Default The Fielding Coach - Richard Halsall

Are you happy with the overall performance of the team in regards to fielding?

Me: How can I be happy when in the last 1-2 years the amount of rubbish fielding, dropping sitters etc has taken place? once people defended Halsall by saying oh Al-Amin is a bad fielder, its not the fault of fielding coach etc... but now we have a good team that has good fielders. yet we are making a big mess of fielding literally in every game. The fielding coach has been absolute disgrace in my opinion.

Needs to be sacked - that's what I voted.
Fielding has lost us more matches than our batsman have.

Forget about NZ players, NZ crowds were catching it better than our superstars!

Below standard. Riyad's fielding has been worse. Tamim's and Shakib's drop didn't have much effect on the game cause soon after Williamson got out. 4-6 runs.

The only fielders we have are Sarkar and Sabbir.

Highly qualified, experienced coach-but unfortunately hasnt been able to get the best out of the players. Julien Fountain had a better connection with the players.

But lot of the problems appear psychological. Players just switch off, drop easy, simple catches. As if mind is elsewhere.

Definitely. These players weren't making such silly mistakes a year ago and you don't just forget how to catch a ball either.

How many catches will our slip fielders drop in first test? minimum of 2?

Courtesy of Halsall's World Class fielding drill to the team?

Taskin first over, and Sabbir drops his catch in the slips.

They did that in one session.

It seems we have no designated/specialist fielding roles for our players either. They all seem to field in whichever position they're asked to like today we had Miraz at slips (I don't think I've ever seen him at slips) who barely missed a chance and then a wtf moment seeing Sabbir at silly point, which has been occupied by Mominul for the past few years, also dropping a chance to go along with his drop at slip.

You can't have just anyone fielding at these crucial spots.

I underestimated, clearly. Fielding Coach is in great form.
