5) Alok Kapali
6) Javed Omar
7) Mushfiqur Rahman

Drop Alok and Sujan. 2 more batsmen in place of them.

We can't suddenly come to a conclusion to drop Alok; I would give him a last chance during the England ODI series if he does not perform then we can certainly drop him for the Zim tour.

FW list is realistic.dropping too many people is'nt realistic:
a) Sujon will not be dropped- No captain replacement in sight and dav will not want to mess around with the chemistry before the Zim series.
b) Alok will not be dropped- Dav is still hanging on to him. He will hopefully pick up form.
c) Mushfiq will retain his place.
It does not look promising but that' s the way the cookie crumbles.
IDEAL CHOICE
However if we want to speculate here is my ideal line up:
1Sarkar
2Nafis-he should get a chance
3Javed-Moniruzaman-he should be tried asap.
4Bashar
5Kapali-Ash
6Rajin-Aftab
7pilot
8rafiq (c)
9masri
10talha
11tapash-enamul jr.
-Players shown side by side indicate that they can swap places from now on. No test place will be a bed of roses. It is earned.
-Nafees needs to be mentored, and one of the openers needs to do this
-I am yet to be convinced about Mushfiq.
-Sujon needs to be replaced. definetely if we lose Zim. Ideally now.

I think dropping Sujon right now - before or after the Eng one day series would shorten our chances of beating Zimbabwe because of change in the team management. - So I agree with you on that aspect.
Its crazy, but realistic to see that who-ever performs creditably as a player, gets to be on the favorite's list for being the BD captain - Sujon is now the captain because he bowled really well particularly against Kenya. And now we're thinking about making Rafique the captain.

Does anyone know why Moniruzaman wasn't selected for Chitagong Test?

Probably because Moniruzzaman cannot handle the short balls.
I wonder from where Hannan Sarkar has learnt to play or avoid playing short balls. He is the best of the debutant batsman that I have seen who can handle bouncers and short pitched balls rather well.

Good for him but I hope these guys pass on their information and techniques to their team mates. Help the coach a bit

Possible Bd team.Hmmm.Dont know who miss the next series.I ask for MAshrafi.Quickly he regain his power.
The next tour is our Away series. And probably the weakest opponent. So we should try to defeat them.I think the team which played with england should be same in Zim Tour.
My selection :One day team
1.HAnnan Shorker
2.NAfis Iqbal
3.ashraful
4.Alok
5.HAbibul
6.Rajin
7.Mushfiq
8.Khaled Mashud
9.Khaled Mahmud
10.Rafiq
11.Mashrafi(I dont think in oneday we should need more pacer)
Because we have mashrafi,Sujon, Mushfiq,Rafiq,Ashraful,Alok and also habibul to ball.
And in Test:
1.HAnnan Shorker
2.Javed Omar(NAfis Iqbal/Ashraful)
3.Alok
4.HAbibul
5.Rajin
6.Mushfiq
7.Khaled Mashud
8.Khaled Mahmud
9.Rafiq
10.Mashrafi
11.Manjurull

So far, we don't have a win in tests. It was
surely unrealistic for us to hope for a win
against England. A better performance against
Zimbabwe is realistic. I just hope we keep
most of this setup intact. Wish we had a change of
skipper, but it is unlikely.
For the test:
1. Hannan
2. Rajin (Logical development)
3. Bashar
4. Javed
5. Mushfiq
6. Alok (Leg break bowling, needed on 1 of the two Zim grounds)
7. Pilot
8. Mahmud
9. Rafique
10. Masri
11. Taposh
Plus: Enamul Jr., Moniruzzaman, Talha.
For ODIs:
1. Rajin (Hannan's ODI stats heading in a different direction)
2. Alok (if others bat well before him, he goofs off)
3. Habibul
4. Tushar Imran
5. Mushfiq
6. Aftab
7. Pilot
8. Mahmud
9. Rafique
10.Mashrafee
11.Taposh
Plus: Hannan, Nafis, Talha.

Javed Omar and Manjurul Islam played well in the last tour of ZIM. Some cricketers take a liking to certain test grounds. Wonder if Belim can stage the 'greatest comeback since Lazarus' and ressurect his wayward test career. The Kiwis would take to drinking whenever Miandad came to town. Could Zimbabwe be Javed and Majurul's Christchurch?

Kalbaisakhi:
Since you asked - I don't see a way around putting Javed in. As others are also hoping, may be he will come out and do well against the Zimbabweans. In the last 2 series with them (Away, then home) he scored 62,85, 1, 43, 3, 35, 8 & 80 runs. You see, 62% of the time he scored 35 or more runs, scored 3 half centuries and came close to century twice. He actually did better in the away series than at home. The Zimbabwe team is even weaker now, both with the bat and the ball. So, I think Javed has a fair shot at performing well if given a chance.

Hey, did you notice something? Sujon's only fifty in any type of Inernational cricket - either ODI or tests, has come against Zimbabwe - in an ODI in Bangladesh?
As we play so well - so much above our standards against Zimbabwe, so our main aim this time in February-March will not only be to score centuries (not half-centuries - centuries) either in Tests or ODIs or in both or take 5 to 10 wicket hauls by bowlers in an innings / match, but also to win at least one International match if not a couple.
Previously, we had only one low score of 168 against Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe in a test match, others are in the 250s region. In 1 of the 3 ODIs, we had our best ODI total ever - until now in a 50-over match against Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe. Although the other 2 ODIs were pretty disgusting compared to the 272 run-score, in the region of 120s to 130s, but I expect the players to perform better this time around.
And this is not only an expectation or a hope. This is something that we MUST do.
This is why I was pretty disappointed at the performance of the 2nd test between BD and ENG, since it was the last test match that Bangladesh was to play before meeting Zimbabwe in Feb-March.
A win against Zimbabwe in either 1 test or in 1 ODI means we will finally forget about our loss to Canada.

Guys, I think its too early to talk aout Zimbabwe
There is still a National League to be played in between isn't there?
However, if I had to pick a 15 for Zimb now, I'd pick the following. I really think that a couple of months off and some domestic cricket will be good for our cricketers, especially Kapali, Rajin and Golla. After a long time, they can take a step back and work at their problems.
Hannan
Moniruzzaman
Javed
Sumon
Rajin
Kapali
Aftab/Nafees/Ashraful
Mashud
Mushfiq
Mahmud
Rafiq
Mashrafe
Tapash
Talha
Enamul
For the Test Match XI, I'd pick 6 batsmen, keeper, Mahmud, 2 front line seamers (not Mushfiq), and Rafiq (certainty in my team no matter how the wicket looks, you cant leave out your best bowler).

Look at the way zimbabwe playing against WI; Better look at their performance agianst australia in the second test. Even if bangladesh win one single match that would be against all odds. Team selection will matter little....There is hardly any difference between Taposh, Mahmud, Mushfique in terms of bowling. We don't have any betterr batsmen than our current top 5.

I thought the reasons were pretty obvious and did not mention them. But, here it is:
In the last 3 test series Kapali's batting performance was very poor.
As for Sujan, his average is 12 for batting and 64 for bowling. That is not good enough, even for BD. We all know that he is trying hard and I think this is the best that he can do. In my opinion, there is a better choice. I beleive Musfiq has the potential to improve and Sujan is only going to go downward.
