What is wrong with Bangladesh?

We are like this since the beginning. We are always in a cycle of "decent" and "ordinary" series. This is nothing new. It looks worse because we have been playing against minnows and had a wrong perception about our team and players.

What's up with Shakib and his low scoring slump?

sad
some say Bangladesh aren't minows
some say Bangladesh aren't the weakest link
some say Bangladesh's batting have improved
some say Bangladesh's captain have leadership skills
but i say Bangladesh are still the SAME or even worse then before
I told you guys before that every year we get a new hero...
2006 year of S Nafees
2007 year of Ashraful
2008/09 year of Sakib/Rakib/Tamim
2010 year of Riyad or Naeem
sakib is another ashraful...

Shamim Chowdhury as soon as Mushfik dropped the catch came to mic and mentioned that those fine tuning are still farcry among BD players. To win matches we need to dominate at least 51% of a match. When we made 296 we dominated 49% and one catch missed by Shakib changed the scenario. In last ODI we dominated I would say 40%. Till the 35th over. We lost it during Power Play and wayward bowling of Nazmul drubbed us. Even if we could resist them 275+- there could be a possible chase. But with current form Ash and Rok/Aftab I do not know if there lies any hope unless Rubel does some magic tonight with Shafi continuing his form.

these conditions are not suitable to Bd batsmen, the ball moves and bounces more. Typically Nzers are very good at exploiting their conditions. I think you will find subcontinent teams always struggle at the start of the tour there. Bd have been playing on low slow wickets far too long.
This tour was really poorly planned. They needed atleast 2 practice matches before taking on Nz national side.

We try to mold players into from one extreme to another ... they all have strengths we just fail to identify each player strengths.

What's going on?
Ja hobad tai hochee....
Ever aggressive Tamim (even though he is in form) followed by...
Still struggling Imrul followed by Eid boy followed by Boom Boom Aftab followed by off-form and strugging bastman Sakib....
And this the lineup in a foreign non-asan country without any preparation game.
Taklu's formula is a recipe for disaster. The sooner Taklu recognize the better it will be for him, the team and for the nation.

No, NZ condition was not the reason for today's debacle. our batsmen do not know how to play. those scores in dhaka tri series are meaningless as the matches were played in super flat pitches. Only 320+ can be said good score in mirpur pitch.

Honestly, I am happy at least we were able to push to 200. At one point I thought we are set of lowest totals. Mushy did great. Top order batting was miserable to say the least; but I will take any positive that comes my way.

+1 ditto
I feel that they are learning from this calamities what they can't against country like Zimbabwe/India/Srilanka. its just the opposite side of the coin.

Andy McKay is a beast and our top order isn't equipped to deal with that kind of stuff. It clearly exposes the sorry state of our domestic cricket - can't say I put all the blame on the players.

lets look at the brighter side. At least we found a good pacer named Shafiul. We realize that Mushfiq and Nayeem are here to stay. Bad side is that we need another 8 players to fill in the gap....

The other positive is our fast bowlers, with time rubel and shafiul will be top class bowlers... I think both of them have tremendous potential.

On another note- cricket is more of a mind game rather than a technique. Our players really need some kind of pcychological assessments and therapies. I am really serious on this.

...another good brighter side...the fool will drag taklu along with him to the exit door.
Its a matter of time....whether its 1 game or 10 games....or few more
It the fool can survive 10 more games... he can also drag Tiger Mama with him towards the exit door....the more he can survive the bigger fish can will be able to catch....and if he can survive 20 games, be be Lupu or even better Lotus mumu .....
Shobur-e Meya folley....

Shafi is an excellent find..he's the real deal. I told you all in his 2nd match.
Rubel's getting better too. Shahadat..not bad..gives me hope.
Spinners prove they are toothless when they aren't in dominating position...vettori gets wickets in any situation, sakib doesn't. He's still good, but lacks the bite. His batting brains are wrosethan ashraful's right now..he wouldn't even be playing in the Academy team as a batsman.
Unfortunate that Aftab failed today..Sakib deserves to bat after Mushfiq, Riyad and Naeem, so does Ash, but someone has to be at No.3.
Lineup for last match:
Tamim
Imrul
Ash
Mushfiq
Riyad
Naeem
Sakib
Aftab
Shahadat
Rubel
Shafiul
