Default Bangladesh TV channels and their political and corporate affiliation:

Was thinking of doing some research and making a list myself. Turns out there is already one out there: http://talukdershaheb.blogspot.com/2...desh-list.html

Thanks for the list. Very interesting one indeed!

If I watch Bangla TV, i watch Ekushey TV and Channel i mostly. Not surprisingly, all of the TV channels serve their own purpose rather the mass people's interests!

Blah - please do some research and make a list yourself.
This "talukdershaheb" is on a big time Razakar Jamati mission ...
He claims Diganta Television "A more balanced reporting" TV, dismiss Shahbagh, Kosai KM was innocent, jamat-shibir petrol bomb attack was actually staged by AL, and a shibir cadre is a martyr ... enough said.
Anyone spend 5 minutes on this blog will get the point what they are trying to do here .... please don't fall for it. Thanks.

Going through the list I immediately got the impression that this guy is a BNP-Jamaat sympathiser. If he thinks Diganta TV is 'balanced reporting' then...

It is not as if staged attacks do not happen...
I think the list is fair in showing the "relative" bias of each station. As the guy is a BNP sympathizer you can consider anything "fair" to be "pro-BNP". And anything he considers pro-Govt may be either neutral or actually pro-govt

OK its possible that his list is biased. How about this. Lets make another list, it seems there are some more entries missing in his list. I can't do it by myself, I have some knowledge gap and its likely some of you guys are more knowledgeable in this.

We can use this format to make this list (feel free to suggest ways to make it better):

- Make a list of all present TV channels in bangladesh (news or otherwise, but categorized accordingly)
- Find out who their current CEO/Chairman/owner is
- Find out if this CEO/Chairman has any present or past political affiliation or general political sentiment.
- Find out if this tv channel has any corporate affiliation and if the corporate house has any political affiliation. (ie, Salman F Rahman).

Here is a google doc I created, feel free to edit it as needed: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gMo/edit#gid=0
