Like ZIM and WI, this PAK team is in rebuilding mode with some talented young players.

I can't stand Hafeez. He is like the Pak version of Naeem Islam.

Pak team is even worse than us in batting. They have a worse batting average since 2009 than we do. They bombed [no pun intended] in England last year, although India with SRT/Dravid/VVS scored 300 just once in 8 tries. They were competitive because Amir-Asif were the best tandem in the world...now that they are gone, they have a mediocre pace attack as well. They could lose the test just like we did, and might only be able to draw. Yes, they are favorites, but that goes out the door once teh first ball is bowled. Vitori, Jarvis, and Mpofu bowl tight lines.

Pak played surprisingly better after Amir-Asif was banned with the rest of the England tour followed by with Aus, and NZ tour. Then they did pretty well in WC. and did decent against WI.

You need to just wait few more days to see whether you are right or I am right.

And even with this batting lineup, pakistan batting is much better than what our batsman performed against ZIM.

Zimbabwe is showing again that they belong at this level. Mawayo is showing that he can be a real asset if he continues to play well. He's got awesome temperament and has some nice looking shots in his arsenal. We need someone like that in our test team but it seems that will be very hard considering the fact that our batsmen just love to throw away their wickets once they get a start.

Zimbabwe batters really grinding it out there.... 209/4 now... if it was our team we would have been 4 down by 100.
Not sure why they scheduled the test in Bulawayo instead of Harare?...were Zimbabwe nervous about the Pakistan attack?

baffling to see Pakistan choosing to bowl first with an inexperienced attack on a placid pitch. Maybe they are getting instructions on their toss decisions from the our team management

Mawoyo on 81. Just take a look at the number of deliveries he has faced. 270. Take that T20..

Zim on track,if they get between 320-370 & bowl well, they will win it.
Vitori's success depends on the number of lefties Pak have, hope I'm wrong.

Sibanda said in the interview after play closed that they were looking to get 400. I reckon that might be a bit optimistic as there's not a lot of batting to come - it would require both Mawoyo and Ervine to make big hundreds.

I think 350 is probably a more realistic aim. If the current pair put on another 40 or 50 runs, Lamb and the tail could probably scrap their way to 350.

But ideally, Zimbabwe will not lose any wickets in the first session tomorrow. If they were 4/320 or so by lunch tomorrow with two very set batsmen then in excess of 400 is on the cards.

The pitch looks pretty batsman friendly though. Price and Lamb will probably bowl a lot of the overs, it would be good if Vitori and Jarvis can get some movement early though and maybe make some early inroads.

For Zim to win:

1. ZIM need to get those runs in a much higher RR than that. You don't want to see ZIM score another 120 runs in 2 sessions.
2. The wicket start detorioting in the 4th and 5th day.
3. Pak batting order self-destruct like BD batting n Test.

I have serious doubt that Vitori will have success in this TEST like he did against us. He will get some wickts no doubt about it.

I think ZIM is playing for a draw, and if ZIM goes near 400s, PAK will also play for a draw. It looks like the pitch is batting friendly and will continue to be so.

But you never know ..... we have fragile ZIM tail and self destruct Pak batting lineup.
