NZ demands compensation from BCB
Bangladesher Khela reports that NZ cricket board has demanded compensation (not the exact word - the exact word is khotipuron) for not playing 3 ODIs against NZ in NZ during 2001.

How much we will get for not holding the Asia cup in Pak?
If the figure is same then we could ask NZ to collect from Pak…

Apperently, we didnt play the ODI there coz we had Asia Cup. However, we can not recall such incident. I clearly remember, it was just a 2 test series to begin with. It was never made public that we were suppossed to play ODI also. I didnt even see it in cricinfo.
Somethign is fishy here. Must be another mess up of BCB.

After 3 years later ? Wow. So, we can start digging deep into our past and find out which teams (there are many) backed out on us and ask for compensation.
By the way, a 3 match series between BD and NZ back in 2001 would have attracted about 500 paid spectators, the sponsors would have stayed away and tv rights would have minimal. I know NZ Cricket board isn't the ricest in the world but I wasn't aware they were in such bad shape.

By the way - did ANY of the respected papers/sites report this ? Our friends at khela have provided wrong info before.
If the story is true then something else comes to mind. Kiwis tour BD in OCT, this may be their attempt at disrupting the tour.

I am quite certain that this is a completely false bit of news.
