On the positive side, we won't have to face the scorching summer heats.

I also don't agree on the international weapon policy of Namibia, completely agree with your points.
I would also like to add, One of the most challenging use of SC magnets is in the LHC particle accelerator [6]. The niobium-titanium (Nb-Ti) magnets operate at 1.9 K to allow them to run safely at 8.3 T. Each magnet stores 7 MJ. In total the magnets store 10.4 GJ. Once or twice a day, as the protons are accelerated from 450 GeV to 7 TeV, the field of the superconducting bending magnets will be increased from 0.54 T to 8.3 T

Bismillahee Rahmaniir Raheem...
Bangladesh knocked India out of the 2007 Worldcup (I loved that match!), Inshallah Bangladesh will beat India again in a World cup this time in the opening match of the 2011 World cup. Ameen.
All you whether your Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, whatever you may be, pray for your country shonar bangla to beat India in the opening match of the World cup and do well in the World cup.

Amen.
But I would like to advise fellow countrymen to remember the fact that india will be playing at their backyard. A win would be good but we should not be too upset if we lose.

I meant the condition here is much similar to that in india- slow wicket with low bounce, perfect for their batsmen. Its not that I dont want us to win. I just don't wanna get too hyped about winning that match and then get depresses if we lose.

As much as the human side of me wants Zaheer to recover from hamstring injury, is there any possibility that he may not be fit for the first WC match?
meh...Tamim will rip the lineup anyway.

I don't get it. If you are considerring India playing in Dhaka as their backyard then our Bangladesh playing in Dhaka would be their own bed room.
The question is, why would you let anyone win in your bedroom......you should be the king of your own bedroom.....that's where magic happens.

Guys, I am not a regular poster but a regular reader of all the
posts. Great forum for BD cricket fans.
I think BD has a big chance of winning the opening match against
India for the following reasons :
1. Ind will be under big psychological pressure. They will be hunted
down by the bitter memory of losing to BD and eventually out of
2007 WC
2. BD will have home ground advantage with big crowd support,
which can go a long way to boost confidence
3. BD spin attack is way better than India's and Mirpur wicket is
spin friendly. Recently BD spinners had huge success against NZ
and Zim in this wicket
4. Looks like after the surgery and rest Tamim is now more run
hungry than before. It was a treat to watch the way he was hitting
Zim bowlers out of the park. He enjoys hitting Indian bowlers,
mainly Zaheer and Bhaji. I think we are gonna see some new records
from Tamim's bat in this match
5. This match will be the biginning of the end of Sachin. His career
has to end at some point-cannot continue forever
As someone posted before history is not created without hope.
This time a better one will be created
4.

with due respect i'll have to disagree with some of ur points
1.ok
2.ok
3.Ind batting lineup is nothing like nz and zim..we got success playing vs nz and zim doesn't mean that we can do the same thing to india..they are much better players of spin..our pace attack needs to step up..if india gets a flying start we can not hold them back with spinners like we did vs nz and zim
4.again zaheer and harvajan is nothing like zim bowlers..but also tamim have proved in the past that he can play well vs zaheer and harvajan..so it will be a good battle
5.Have to totally disagree with u there..sachins career is gona end at some day but that doesn't mean this match will be the beginning of the end of sachin..thats plain ridiculous

Brother Night-Wolf, thanks for analysis. But don't consider the point regarding Sachin's career too seriously. I was just kidding. Nobody can say when someones career gonna be over.
BD's pace attack with Mash, Rubel and Shafi is not too bad. India
to have a flying start will need bit of luck as well.

0.1 Khan to Tamim Iqbal, SIX, Boom! Murder! Simply imperious! deja vu 07!Charges down the track like a invading marauder and pulls a short-of-length delivery over long-on. What a fiesty player!
Good start by Bangladesh.

Nobody gave us a chance in 2007... Nobody will in 2010 either... this is actually good for bd.... let India be complacent... the beauty of cricket is that its unpredictable...

0.2 Khan to Tamim Iqbal, FOUR, oh what a beautiful shot! Lovely cover drive. On the up. High elbow. All along the ground. Wide of mid-off. Straight of extra cover. Where are the photographers?
Bangladesh going to murder India today!

It seems some of us have forgot it's not Tamim vs India, it's BD vs India. Even if Tamim gets a 50 or a 100 thrashing Zaheer & Bhajji all over the park, other batsmen also have to step up to put up a challenging score on the board.

^exactly, to beat India we need solid batting from at least 3 batters.
