It could be a case of a difficult pitch. The match is being held in MALAYSIA AFAIK so you dont expect the pitches of good standard. The pitches also detoriate over time as the match is being played

80 run e hara ar 40 run e hara'r modhe difference ki? Just because they lost by 40 runs thst doesn't make them any less of a loser

Matha thanda rakhar kisu nai, historically, the SL U19 team has been a pushover. It's the Indian and Pakistani sides that we've had to worry about. But the days of Shakib-Tamim-Mushfiq are long gone. No wonder our recent U19 grads lose to Zimbabwe.

Asad bhai don't underestimate Ireland! On that, we should remember well....that we lost to Ireland quite a few times so did most giants and we have an impending International series soon....

Ok lets look at the performance of BD U-19 team in the past:

Several times plate champion and plate runners up, and once 5th position

How can we say that SL team is very ordinary? How can we say that our team is top class? We cant because this is U-19 cricket and people dont know much abt the players playing. You never know some of these U-19 SL players may turn out to be the next mathews, sanga or malinga.

Basically, lets not make a judgement without seeing the performance in our own eyes. Some stats will not give clear indication of a team's ability. Have we ever seen our boys bat much? Only saw glimpse of nur, asir and soumya and BPL and thats it, and they werent anything special.

Sri Lanka national team depends on Youth Cricket/ School Cricket from where the usual talents come- Mathews, Perera, Tharanga many of them are direct results of Youth Cricket. So is the case all around the world but Sri Lanka has the most strongest Youth System in place. It will be not surprising that 5-6 players from this side will go on to play for SL later. BD should take steps immediately to arrange stronger base with School Cricket other than only "Nirman"

We're not talking about this year. Obviously a 40 run hammering on a 200 wicket is a butt-whooping. Clearly, this SL team is either superior to ours, or good enough to beat us. But in years past, our U-19 team has dominated theirs.

Overall, our U-19 team has 73 wins and 39 losses. That is a great record in the sport of cricket. Versus SL they are 13-8, which shows clear superiority. Overall SL are 79-87. India, which prolly has the best team of all time has a 120-41 record. I think after India and Australia, Bangladesh has the 3rd best win percentage of U19 ODI teams.

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/eng...ults;type=team

The only teams who have better head to heads with us are India (10-1), Nepal (1-0), NZ (1-2), and SA (2-3). We have a even 5-5 record against powerhouse Pakistan.

Our batting problems were evident even in the qatar game. Besides soumia and asif the rest of the batters flopped against the pie chuckers as well. Anamul is being badly missed by this team.
