I am actually hoping for a whitewash so that people wakes up and notices how badly the team and game is being managed and we might also get to see the end of some of the passengers. It seems the world cup wasn't enough for some introspection

We have lost to teams like Canada, Hong kong before. Got whitewashed against Afg. Those didnt wake people up (are they really sleeping?). Losing to SL will not do anything. I have full confidence on that

Mash out of the tour with 'injury' .. while 'bowling' in the nets late evening! sounds like he backed out or has been asked to sit out. who will captain the team with shakib not playing either.. there are only really 3 options ..i have a feeling it will be tamim

farhad reza replaced mash

who will be our 6th bowler?

shakib missing means--missing 2 players

bowling line up:

mustafiz
saifuddin
farhad reza
miraz
mosaddek

need another bowler. mosaddek is for 4 or 5 overs maximum

i think, afif hossain druvo needs to be included. he is in form and can play as spinning allrounder.need immediate replacement for shakib. once shakib will be out, we will need 2 players to replace him. now need another 2-in 1 player

Canada in 2003 that was long ago, that did have an effect as our cricket since then improved. Hong Kong defeat in a t20 can be passed off as a one off upset by BCB. Afghanistan series was also in T20s and many in BCB shrug it off as Afghanistan is a good team in T20s. After the horror of 2014 our cricket did improve from 2015 onwards.

A whitewash vs Sri Lanka after the just concluded bad world cup will make many people upset and some changes at least will come however until our inept former cricketers learn what is needed to improve cricket in the country or steps aside we will not see significant changes.

SL announced a strong team: nirosan dickwella, sandakan, akila all in squad. dont know, why they were dropped for world cup

its basically SL super XI vs BD A team (without shakib, saifuddin, mash, liton)

whoever wants to meet shakib in NYC live--its your chance today. he will be in jackson hts, bellozino hall for meet and greet

So where are all these great young players just waiting to replace Tamim, Mushy, and Riyad, who by the way have won games against teams like India and Pakistan?

We were 1 win away from finishing 5th place at the world cup. We were the 6th best side there had it not been for rain pushing SL and SA above us.

Well, many of you got your wish full-filled - Mash is out of commission, who knows how long (PA reporter said he heard a noise before Mash fell, this could be the end).

Let the new era of Bangladesh cricket start under Tamim

Yeah, and had it not been for Mushy stumping mistake we could've even won World Cup instead of finishing 8th place out of 9 teams.

Thank god Mashrafe got injured. He is useless in team as a bowler and batsmen. Taskin would do better than him. My playing 11 would be 1) Tamim( captain) 2) Soumya 3) Mossadek 4) Mushfiqur 5) Mithun 6) Miraz 7) Mahmudullah 8) Farhad Reza 9) Taijul Islam10) Taskin 11) Fizz

What do you mean what's wrong with Feza. He is a quality alrounder. So let's see Taskin can bowl 10 overs Fizz 10 overs Reza 10 overs and Rubel 10 overs. Since Road cannot bowl most likely Mossadek Mehedi, and Taijul can fill up the spinner column.

Bro,I don't mean any offence, but sometimes you make it sound like Bangladesh has won a WC, Asia Cup and WT20.

Although Bangladesh has not won the World Cup the only match they lost which they were expected to win at the beginning was with Pakistan. I also agree if match against Sri Lanka was not washed out we could have been 6th and it wouldn't be a bad World Cup. Sometimes some of us Bangladeshi supporters react in a way as if we were expected by everyone to be in the top 4 and we failed. Bangladesh had a pretty good world cup (and was 5th for a long time during the tournament) considering relatively weak bowling attack and English conditions and actually was better than South Africa who are above us in the table.

We are ranked below SA, I consider the world cup a failure.

Looking at selection you may find some justification of taking uradhura players, highlighting Mithun-Soummya, making Tamim captain, bringing back Taskin, adding Feza and even talk about making Shoe John head coach - is that something like BCB is more concerned about creating a squad ready for T20Is?

If that is so then I would say still there are selection glitch. Yasir Ali, Alamin should be there - if not in main team but part of it.
