Your team for the one day practice match
I want to see a good number of players from the ODI team playing in this match. Both Tamim and Zunaed need to play in this match to get more practice against SA pacers.
I also like to see SN playing as onedown batsman in this match and see if he can be a viable option for Aftab in the oneday format (since Aftab has not been doing well from this position). He would be my choice to lead the team in this match.
Rasel and Farhad need to play in this match to warm up for the ODI series. I like to see Shahadat opening bowling in this match along with Rasel, and may be also in the ODI series (tired of Mashrafe's putuputu bowling).
Now, among the national team outsiders, the first name I want to see is Dhiman Ghosh, it's time to consider an alternative for the golden boy.
I would rest our ODI spinners (Shakib, Razzak), since they got some practice in the test series, and I would play Mosharraf and Riyad in their places.
For the rest of the three positions (practice teams generally consist of 12 players), I would give chances to Imrul, Raqibul, and Nazimuddin.
So my team would be -
Tamim
Zunaed
SN
Nazimuddin
Raqibul
Imrul
Farhad
Dhiman
Riyad
Mosharraf
Shahadat
Rasel

I like the idea of exposing some of the younger players in the practice matches. I have always thought it'd be wonderful to have a couple of practice matches when international teams come over - good exposure for our reserves, who would otherwise be playing lesser opponents.

curious as to why people are rating nazimuddin in the one-day game, outside of a couple of t20s he's really not been that impressive in the one-day arena, i know he took it to a world class attack and succeeded but it was only a couple of matches and he didn't particularly have an impressive one-day NCL season (and his list A record isn't very impressive). why not someone like naeem islam, nazmus sadat or faisal hossain who had really good one-day seasons recently and also have pretty good career list A records? or someone like milon who although didn't have a great one-day season has a good career record?
i'm not trying to knock nazimuddin (he must have the ability if he can do what he did to pakistan) but stats can tell a lot when it comes to consistency and nazimuddin isn't really that consistent whereas there are other players who are consistent, and for me i'd prefer consistency to be the first priority in selection.
anyway, could someone elabortae a bit more on nazimuddin please?

Gowza, just say I am more comfortable going with someone who has shown consistency in different levels over years, than with someone who came in the picture just a year ago (and still not being that consistent).
Also, Nazimudding got some excellent oneday stats for the A-team that simply scream to give him a chance at a higher level.
As you can see, I am not neglecting Imrul and Raqib's NCL (OD) performances, but I do rate those performances lot less than what Nazim achieved so far.

u r right!
my brother u are RIGHT "u can do make as many changes to the batting line up, at end of the day result will be da same" bd has the worst batting line up in the world. Many of u might not agree with me but from an international point of view bd batsmen have enough experience to score constantly. AshRaFool always talk big (in the media) but hasn't scored more then 40 runs in the test since SL tour

i disagree that players like raqibul, naeem and imrul are still not that consistent, imrul averages 54 (15 matches) in list A, raqibul averages 40 (21 matches) and naeem averages 41 (29 matches), nazimuddin only averages 25. nazimuddin has done well in A team one-day cricket especially in 2007 which i'll admit i didn't know, but you can't tell me he's been consistent for a number of years over a number of levels. he has a terrible one-day record for chittagong (averages 22 in 35 matches). anyway thanks for the explanation (and pointing out his A team record), his A team record does warrant him a chance in one-dayers.
if you don't mind me asking what are your thoughts on naeem islam?

I think Mashrafe should be on this team. He is not in form. He is not contributing 100%, He has to come back, afterall he is our main strike bowler.

I consider him a somewhat consistent NCL player, but, I have not seen any eye catching performance from him yet. I am interested to see if he can develop his offspin to a level where he can be considered a good oneday allrounder.

really really funny but this is truth. Our batsmen dont know the diff between test and ODI and so is our selectors and coach. so this team is better

I might be the only guy pushing for an experienced keeper. Dhiman or Mushy it wouldn't matter who you would select to keep. Both are too young. Pilot is still reasonably agile. He consistently performed in first class cricket with the bat last season and is far better keeper than Mushy. Why not play him in the practice match and see how he does? I haven't seen Dhiman keep but from what I can gather he can score quickly.

Kapali, Dhiman, Imrul Kayes, Moshraf Rubel, Raqibul Hasan and Talha Zubair would not make the team. At least Kapali won't get a chance until he consistently performs in A. He fell out of favour with the selectors. The reason is simple: Kapali never scores or picks up wicket when there's expectations on him.

Pilot for ODI? YOu kiddind? He's good in Tests.
Pilot & Mushy are not ODI material.
Dhiman is good according to many fans who saw him playing. He's a good batsman in the late middle order. He can play strokes.

haha. nobodycan play in BD. razzaq should open batting and bashar should open bowling and aimless masharafe should do wicket keeping. ashraful should be ball boy again.

You can't be serious?! The problem with Team BD is that the players aren't very experienced. If Mushy is out of form, isn't it better to use the opportunity to look at another young player like Dhiman rather than squandering it by picking Pilot who will probably retire wihtin the year?
