Ctg & Khulna in final
An all-round performance from Mohammad Saifuddin on the third and final day of the semifinal of the Young Tigers U18 National Cricket Competition led Chittagong to a five-wicket win over Rajshahi at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra yesterday. Rajshahi, who had an overnight score of 96 for five, were bowled out for 148 and set a target of 216, which Chittagong overhauled in 38.4 overs.
The Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi was the site of another fine all-round performance as Khulna's Mehedi Hasan followed his 81 with a five-wicket haul to lead his side to a 7-wicket victory over Sylhet in the other semifinal.
SCORES IN BRIEF
RAJSHAHI: First innings 255 for 8 and second innings 148 all out in 78.5 overs (Nazmul 25; Saifuddin 5-38).
CHITTAGONG: First Innings 161 all out and second innings 216 for 5 in 38.4 overs (Tanjid 65, Sumon 50).
Result: Chittagong won by five wickets.
Player-of-the-match: Saifuddin (Chittagong).
SYLHET: First innings 120 and second innings 202 all out in 62.4 overs (Moinuddin 67; Mehedi 5-48).
KHULNA: First innings 229 and second innings 99 for 3 in 27.1 overs (Adnan 65 not out).
Result: Khulna Division won by seven wickets.
Player-of-the-match: Mehedi (Khulna).

Congrats to Chittagong for winning the title. Hope this league continues and this isn't just a 1 time thing. It's a very good experience for these young players. Hope the selectors now have a better idea of who to pick in the upcoming U19 tour

Rohan leads Ctg to glory

Chittagong Division emerged as champions in the Young Tigers U18 National Cricket Competition as they beat Khulna Division by 37 runs on the third and final day of the final match at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi yesterday.
Ashfaq Ahmed Rohan scripted the victory for Chittagong by taking ten wickets in the match. After claiming six wickets and making a valuable 43 runs in the second innings, Rohan took four wickets in the second innings as Khulna were all out for 197 runs in reply to a winning target of 235.
Omar Faruk captured three wickets for Chittagong while Mehedi Hasan scored highest 42 runs for Khulna in the second innings.
Earlier Chittagong could manage a 234-run overall lead as they were bundled out for 138 runs after resuming the day on 71 for three.
SCORES IN BRIEF
CHITTAGONG: First innings 271 and Second innings 138 all out in 58.4 overs (Rohan 43, Tanzid 34, Prosenjit 23, extras 12; Mustafizur 3-23, Mehedi 2-35, Noman 3-36)
KHULNA: First innings 175 all out and Second innings 197 all out in 49.3 overs (Sahjalal 24, Adnan 37, Mehedi 42, Noman 20, extras 11; Faruk 3-31, Rohan 4-38).
Result: Chittagong Division won by 37 runs.
