Default Did anyone watch Pak vs Zim match closely?

Pakistan's first 4 wickets fell very cheaply batting first after winning the toss, their run rate was also pretty poor for most of the period, until the Inzamam-Razzak came to the rescue and then Afridi blast.

I have been watching Zimbabwe closely (although did not see the whole match) to figure out ways to defeat them, and this is what I found: we may struggle against Zimbabwe, so don't keep your hopes up for a test and an ODI series, yet.

Bhujlamna.

So what is your finding:

1. To defeat them, we need to keep our hopes down?

Or,

2. There is no way we can defeat them so don't keep your hopes up.

Yes i followed that game early on and saw Panyangara get the first baller. Then Hondo got a wicket in the next over and they were 2/2 and then 3 for not many and 4/40 odd.

What appeared to me is that the Zims are better with the ball than with the bat.
However, may be the pitch was a bowling one, where 5 top batsmen from both sides were dismissed cheaply.
That means Zims are posing threat to our dream of whitewashing them.

Nice match.

Afridi and Razzaq's onslaught was just devastating.

Zimbabwe put the hurt on pakistan in the second match but Pakistan won wth 3 wicket and almost couple of overs to go. While the result doesn't mean much to pakistan, it means a lot for the BD players. Zimbabwe will be unpredictable and is still a threat to many. Let's not forget that we manage to keep ourself down.

You stand corrected Sam as they posted a score of 250. Now they are better with the bat.

The Zimbabwe team did ok....due credit should be given to them...but then again that doesn't necessarily mean that we won't be able to beat them....I still feel that we'll definitely whitewash them in the test series...ODIs might be interesting..still 60-40 in our favour i feel..tc ppl...

Yes, bourny3, this is what the last match suggests.

I still see they are very much beatable. Just we need to be extra cautious against Panyangara for the first few overs. Also if we can take Taylor's wicket early, we should be on the top.

Also I am not sure whether ZIM played that good or some of the PAK palyers played that bad.

Pak team was second string. And they would have played bad. One bloke got hit for 81 off his 10 overs

Yes, we have to remember that we don't have such devastating players who can hit 140 runs in the last 10 overs in a 50 over match.

The only 2 players who have shown that they can hit Zimbabwean players BIG are Mohammad Ashraful (among the youngsters) and Khaled Mahmud (among the oldies). However, they have to be batting at the crease when the 40 overs are gone - that is the key.
