I wish they had Monty Python script, choreograph and direct the OC. That'd have been something truly different, daring and incredible.

It was one of the best opening ceremonies in terms of creativity and originality. Enjoyed every minute of it. Hats off to Danny Boyle.

You are watching the US broadcast. Olympic coverage in the US sucks big hairy...... It's like you are watching a sequence of feel good human interest stories interspersed by Americans winning medals. I'm Amercan too, but that's a bit too parochial for me. If I wan to see us win medals, I want to know who we beat. Or who beat us.

I wish BD had more participants in Olympics. I mean only 5 participants out of 160m is just shows how much we suck in sports

I meant USA officially got a bit longer walk time. At least 25-30 sec longer. But this isn't anything new. Isn't that how it is for other stuffs as well? Bit self-centered? But I guess it makes sense, this is US broadcast, people are waiting to see our athletes, so NBC stayed with the US team.

I know what you mean though. What bothers me the most when they make our sports events into a world wide thing, even though people in ROW probably don't follow our leagues.

Where can I watch the official version anyways?

you can watch it on BBC Dilscoop? If you have cable, you may even find BBC HD

@SohelNR: The Monty Python idea would be fun or even an introduction to the Industrial Revolution by Blackadder! Can't believe they had a segment on the NHS without using that great British export, Hugh Laurie!

On the whole I think it was a fairly good affair. Homage to British History , James Bond's helicopter fake stunt , Rowan Atkinson's act and Akram khans dance were the standout acts for me. Arctic Monkeys cover of Come Together was awesome too.

Oh man. You have to see this in video.

This has piqued my waning interest in the Olympics.
