First 11 for the first ODI against WI ??
It might be like this in Chittagong:
Hannan
Al-Shahriar
Ashraful
Habibul
Sanwar
Khaled
Naimur
Alok
Tapash
Talha
Monju
Read one newspaper report that Khaled could come early in the batting order.
Should they play Tushar/Sejan & Rafiq instead of Naimur and a pacer (Tapash/Monju)?

I think they should leave the 3 pacers together as one unit until Masri is fit. these 3 represent continuity and they can get better together.
i am really confused by why naimur rahman is returning to the team. he better take some wickets while he is there.
tushar could make the one day team, couldn't he? in that case either ashraful or naimur could get the chop. if the wicket dictates they need more than the 4 full and part time spinners on your team, then i guess they could drop a pacer. don't see khaled mahmud returning since they are talking about naimur now.

Tushar is one of our best ODI players. Yes, he sucked in tests so far, but why drop a inform ODI batsman !!!

I think that team has too many bowlers for a ODI. I think we should drop one of them, possibly Naimur or one of the pacers, and take Tushar. Right now, the team has seven bowlers, Monju, Talha, Taposh, Kapali, Durjoy, Ashraful and Sanwar. We should drop one and strengthen our batting. We should be able to get 50 overs out of 6 bowlers.

The Chittagong wicket is unlikely to take much turn. I think its best we keep the three quickies and drop Durjoy. Kapali, Ash and Sanwar should give us enough spin options.

\"drop durjoy\"
amazing, that guy is not even on the team (ie has not played for almost a year), just on the 14 man squad. definitely agree that tushar should come in as a batsman. ashraful gives us more options, but since durjoy has weasled his way into the sqaud, he will probably play.

Damn it - and I think you're right rafiq that Naimur will probably play since he is in the 14 man squad.

Tushar better play. Screw Durjoy <--Nigga is wack! As for the other members, it's ok for the first ODI but they better not screw up in the 2nd and 3rd ODI. By then it should be easy to take out all the "morx"es.
All I can say right now is "Be ready to have your heart broken once again." Don't set your expectation til the 2nd ODI. No more nonsense from me till the end of the game.

Amazing stuff from the selectors
I will not comment on the team until the match starts. I don't see how any sane person can even think about putting in the team. I do understand that it is our own soil and Durjoy might get lucky (which I won't complain about cause that would work out for BD) but luck aside, there is no way Durjoy makes the cut. *sigh*
We've had so many discussions about it that it's useless to write any more.
How can you leave Tusher out of the team ? He is one of our explosive ODI players. in no time, he will mature enough to cope with test matches.

When I wrote 'drop Durjoy', I was referring to bd_cricket's team, first post of the thread. With Kapali certain to play and Ashraful with a good shout, how can we justify yet another spinner all rounder in Durjoy, given Sanwar can also spin. Tushar should definitely play.

I was almost right about my prediction on the 1st eleven set by the selectors.
I predicted Durjoy gonna make into 11 because he already made in 14 - I don't like this.
And putting 5 spinners together by dropping Tushar & Talha is certainly a big time stupidity.
Good luck to our team.
