ODI #1

Tamim moves in 104 of Bashar and will probaly take over Shakib pretty soon at the current rate as well
Tamim also inching up to the 30 ave (29.07).
Tamim moves up to 15 50+ scores seperating himself from HB/SN/AA
Shafiul got a 4 wicket haul and probably would have a feifer if the run out was given lbw.

ODI #2

1-15 vs. NZ
Mushy and Naeem : Highest 7th wk partnership (101)
Mushy : 5th half century
Mushy needs 75 to surpass Alok (1170) and move to top 10 for BD
Shakib's average dips below 35 (34.79)
Shafiul has 9 wickets in 4 matches at an average of 24.33

Hopefully this will have something to update, unlike the T20 one.

MMW: This tour and the stats will only magnify our faults.

Shafiul the lone shinning light. Tamim still proved he is a hot head immature. What was he thinking at the non-strikers end? unsettling Vettori's rythm? Concentrate on your game. Same thing happened against Watson, Zaheer. This is a pattern that I don't like. Yes they instigated it but he don't need to retaliate and lose the big picture the game itself.

Shakib needs to write an essay on what are his responsibilites. Repeat it 10 times and read it out loud.

yes, Tamim is still early in his career and showing good sign to be an elite opener. He should concentrate to score 100s in matches with semi-aggressive way and go crazy after that with over-aggression...that should compensate the early calmness.....

Good observation on Tamim. The other teams know of his temper and frequently do things to get him off balance and he falls for it. Tuffey tried it early with the throw at the stumps with him having to duck. Everytime he gets a bouncer at his head, I hold my breath knowing there is a charge coming on the next ball.

We got the highest 7th wicket partnership of 101 between Naeem and Mushy yesterday breaking the previous one of 89 or something between Mashud and someone else (Kapali?!).

Imrul becomes the 4th Bangladeshi to score an ODI century against a G8 side after Ashraful, Shakib Al Hasan and Alok Kapali. Interestingly none of them were at home.

Why? Why not including ZIM and WI? To me, Its close to doing prostitution with stat.

Average wise he is only better than Tamim and Mushy.

If this is supposed to the guidelines, are you suggesting that Tamim and Mushy deserve the Axe before Ash?

Ash is held to a different standard from the rest and rightfully so. He has 150+ ODIs under his belt. Which simply means if you have gotten what you want out of him yet, you never will.

In additional the rest of team is always shifted to find a slot for Ash. I know the removal won't come anytime soon, but there really is no justification to keep him on board.

When our national team plays against any team I want them giving their 100% whether its against AUS or against ZIM... therefore I don't like these filtering....in reality we play more games to the so called weaker team, if we need to filter, we should filter performance against stronger team, not weaker teams....because those are team we will most likely play more in future based on track record.

But as I said, I don't believe in these filtering stuff as you can make a case to filter and slice and dice so many ways that it lose all stat value and minimum sample size and criteria.

For example people will start filtering based on home vs away games.... further more filtering based on a particular stadium.... further more pitch curator ... further more moth of the year....further more same players played against us .. i.e. for example NZ 2 bowlers (just guessing) only played against us this time as well as last time so just use partial stat against those players only... etc....

Therefore when we start filtering data, we compromise with its credibility.

ODI # 3:

1. Highest score vs. NZ, 3rd time we crossed 200 against them
2. Imrul century. It would have been awesome if he had carried the bat
3. Shakib now has 90 wickets. Hopefully #100 will come in the home series with ENG. If not in ENG.

I am in full agreement with you on this one.

Moreover, stats can be misleading at times because they don't justify the situation. For example, Naeem's stats are pointless as he in most cases comes in and is required to slog because it is the batting powerplay when the team has a good base. Otherwise, he is stuck having to build an innings with tail enders where the pressure to score runs is on him.

Filtering games against teams ranked low doesn't help much, at least not in our case in recent times. Last year, we played 14 matches against Zimbabwe and 3 against a depleted West Indies side out of the 19 ODIs we played overall. By filtering these games, you're rendering the performances in them useless, but without those performances, we probably would have lost most of the those 17 matches and been in deep poo by now.
