I am not sure if you had watched that match live but I did cause BD's fate was depending on it. SL posted a 254 total. An imposing total but not hard for the stat-filled lineup India had. When the first 3 batsmen Uthappa, Ganguly and Tendulkar were out for 44 India needed a someone to stay with Dravid. Not a run a ball inning for sure. If the situation demands for someone just to hang no to the wicket but he still plays aggressively that usually is the worst possible innings one can play. Even in the match report at the Cricinfo had mentioned Shewag's out was the turning point of the match. Statwise it may look pretty or ok but substance wise it was bad. He was set yet he gave it away. That was the reason for him to make my squad.

Chao.

Oh, I think I get it now. A player has to make his team win in order to be a success. I seem to remember this guy who scored a 400*. But wait! The match ended in a draw. Terrible performance...If he did what he was supposed to do and declare at around 500 by the end of the second day (and forget about his 400) like any captain that wants to win does, it would have been a much better innings....And I think you mean "Ciao". Chao is a Chinese stir frying technique

my dream team:
1.Mathew Hayden (AUS)
2.Adam Gilchrist (AUS)
3.Ricky Ponting(AUS)(captain)
4.Graeme Smith(SA)
5.Kevin Pietersen(ENG)
6.MIACHAEL CLARKE(AUS)
7.Sakib-Al-Hasan(BAN)
8.Andrew Hall(SA)
9.Muttiah Muralitharan (SL)
10.Shaun Tait(AUS)
11.Glenn Mcgrath (AUS)

12th man:Bradd Hogg(AUS)

this is in my view, very well balanced.3 good fast bowlers,1 good spinner,3 supporting spinners, with 7 batsmen.
