Thumbs up A new era for Bangladesh Cricket?

Akram Khan, along with, Habibul Bashar and Minhajul Nannu

Today is a new day, not just another day, rather a special one!
A day with a lots of sunshine, not just flicker of shine!!

A day, where our selectors came out as winners - not an easy one, especially, in a country like Bangladesh!!! How many times you have seen a decision was taken against the "establishments"? Yes!. Ashraful is an "institution" in Bangladesh. Some might not agree, but leaving him out from a 22 men squad is a real brave one where even our state ministers lobby for "him".

Secondly, the squad announced for the upcoming tests against West Indies seems based on performance, not just based on so called experience which is a rare scene in Bangladesh cricket! A combination of experienced and young talents have been selected who could take our cricket ahead led by the likes of Sakib, Tamim, Mushfiq ,Gazi, Mominul and Taskin etc.

Unlike the previous BCB president, we might have found a visionary boss in Mr. Nazmul Hassain - who seems quite interested to listen rather to talk. Time will say how he might perform, but looks promising so far.

And finnaly, I would like to congratulate the selectors for taking a bold decision and hope they would remain strong and follow a fair selection policy beyond any outside influences. Thank You.

All hail the SELECTORS!

Note: I am an Ashraful fan (not a fanatic one though!). Nothing could beat the joy of watching him when he is on song.
I hope and wish, he will take a break, think, go back to Richard and sorts out his mistakes and come back as a winner.

While we are here, lets talk about chachu's tech skills. That's the first time I've seen a Bengali guy multi-task.

but... but its the same wine (the selectors) in a brand new bottle. The wine will taste the same though.

Yes Lotus Uncle did interfare with the selection, but did this selectors always took the right choices? Wasn't it the same selectors who made rediculus excuse to justify a player's inclusion/exclusion?

I hope the the new chaiman not only let the selectors select the team without interference, he also make them responsible for their selection.

I enjoyed reading the article/post Kalpurush Da until when you suggested Papor is a visionary. In fact I was going to say this piece was better than any other attempts Zee made. He is a BD politician. How can you forget that? The only adjective you use with their names is 'honorary' because that's mandatory.

I won't tip my hat off to the selectors just yet. Because, this was supposed to happen a long time back. To overlook Mr. Ashraful.

The toughest challenge, which will ultimately really test the selectors' mettle is, when our current crop have a bad outing in one/two tours. Will they revert back to Ashraful?

yes, we criticize our selectors but this time they deserve a
Sir Ash ke baad deya chatti khani bishoy na.
And also no Kaedge for test, over all good selection.

Every rebirth looked like that...but that never happened. Has anything changed this time to suggest that our players have a change of attitude?? Talent wise, we never had a shortage since 2004/5....just because some new faces are in, I don't think that we have any reason to get over excited.... I know, after the series, we will hear very strong voices saying,"these guys are new, so give them time to settle" ...and there could be no arguments until we try them 2/3 years and be sure that they succeed/fail... And then again new players and new hope...the cycle continues...until there is a major change in our attitude...

We're praising the selectors so much but this should have been done long time ago. This is the job of the selectors and they must try to do it right all the time.
If there is any management pressure in selection of the team, in that case it's not the selectors fault.
It looks like the new president who's letting our selectors do their job.
Lets see how it turns out in the long haul.

Thanks for your comments.

Well, Mr. Nazmul Hassan is a visionary or not - we will know soon. I also generally do not like politicians, doesn't mean everyone is bad or have no vision.

Nazmul bhai is an educated person, thus, my expectation is higher. Also, he is known as a gentle man who steps up at times when needed. Time will tell.

I am optimistic though

Doesn't mean it won't happen either!

By taking proper actions, our tigers could be worldbeaters too. Just need to work harder and hold hope high
