This thread is the opportunity to show respect to those who sacrificed their lives for cause of their mother tongue. This is also one international day observed worldwide which is connected to our Bangladesh. So as a Bangladeshi I do feel quite respect for this day as it is observed by Unesco and in many parts of the world.
How did you observe the day? When I was in Bangladesh we used to go to shahid minar. It was always a nice gathering. Outside of BD maybe in every Bengali community there is also effort to observe this day, maybe in the next weekend. Being an international recognized day I feel it is a great opportunity to portray our rich culture to other foreign people.
It would be nice to know how Bengali people and their community around the globe observed this international day.
