Lightbulb Cricket Observations

Whatever cricketing observations you make, please post in this thread. I will start with the following:

M Labuschagne c Root b Leach 59

35.6 and gone! Into the rough again, gets low to sweep but it flies off Buttler's left thigh at short leg and well caught diving forward at midwicket! They're going to check this catch, soft signal is out... ooh, this doesn't look clear at all. Root was the man diving forward, and they'll have a long look at this. Notoriously tricky, these - looks out from one angle and not-out from the other. We have a decision... Wilson gives it! And Labuschagne is fuming! A few words exchanged between Root and Marnus on the way off. 132/4

That was an outrageous decision. The ball clearly bounced of the ground. Batsman should have been given benefit of the doubt.

Player name and number at the back of Test jersey looks HORRIBLE IMNSHO

FYI, IMNSHO = In My Not So Humble Opinion

Crickets, family Gryllidae (also known as "true crickets"), are insects related to grasshoppers and katydids (order Orthoptera). They have somewhat flattened bodies and long antennae.

Weight is just a number - it is not hindrance in playing cricket. Man Mountain Rahkeem Conwall makes history:

Quote:
Cornwall, who stands at 6 ft 5 inch and weighs around 140 kilos became the heaviest cricketer to play Test cricket. The bowling-allrounder surpassed former Australia captain Warwick Armstrong, who weighed 133-139 kg, to achieve the feat.

Interesting that with a Saffer heavy coaching not a single BD player earned a contract for MSL

We play test match without a pace bowler. Our Malinga aka Rubel is happy with whatever he was able to achieve and will probably retire soon but the real Malinga on the other hand, even though a buira in literal sense, is kicking around and takes four wickets in four balls.

Quote:
2.3 there comes Malinga's 100th T20I wicket and he has bowled Munro again! Little similar to how he got Munro in the first T20I but this wasn't a yorker. It was swinging in, in pitched on middle stump and it found the gap between Munro's bat and pad to rattle the leg stump. What a sight that is for a fast bowler 15/1

2.4 loud, loud appeal first ball, it's turned down and Malinga, the captain, has reviewed immediately. This one also to a left-hander, also swinging in, also missed by the batsman, and he's hit right in front of leg stump after the ball pitched on middle. Ball-tracking says it's hitting, the crowd erupts! It might have looked not out initially but seems like Rutherford took a tiny step towards middle stump which went in Malinga's favour 15/2

2.5 he has done it, three in three, Malinga has taken a hat-trick when his team needs it the most! Dear o dear, they're checking for the no ball and this is so close! The foot is pitching on the line and it seems like, on impact, a fraction of a tiny part of the heel was behind in the crease. It couldn't have been closer than that without being a no ball. And how's this for a hat-trick delivery: a searing yorker with late swing to an in-form Colin de Grandhomme who was squared up and the ball took the base of off and middle stumps. What a sight, what a bowler. He points to the number on his jersey in celebration. It says 99! 15/3

2.6 FOUR IN FOUR! Is this the 2007 World Cup all over again?! Ross Taylor this time, and he gets the same treament - an unplayable yorker. He looked more still than de Grandhomme at the crease but it didn't matter. This one is headed right for the foot, it swings late from around leg to middle stump and it sneaks under Taylor's bat to get him plumb 15/4

WI took a few step backwards by making Kieron Pollard their ODI and T20 Captain. NOT GOOD!
