Match report (by your's truly)

Yesterday's match:

South Africa batted first and made 270 for 9, with Chloe Tyron contributing a belligerent 65 off 42 balls that included 9x4 & 3x6, she came in at the latter half of the innings. Earlier, Lizelle Lee showed great composure to hit a half century ( 54 off 64 balls, 7x4, 1x6), and Dane van Niekerk with 44 off 52 balls, 6x4 set the foundation for a commanding target for BD to chase.
Bowling for BD women, Nahida Akter took 2 wickets for 22 runs off 8 overs, Fahima Khatun with figures of 10-1-53-2 chipped in, Former skipper Jahanara Alam also took two wickets, but she conceded 62 off 9 overs. Salma Khatun and skipper Rumana Ahmed took one wicket apiece going for 52 and 38, respectively.

In reply, the ladies from BD were tied down early, and as a result of that they lost wickets at regular intervals. Only 3 batters crossed double figures: Opener Sanjida Islam (35 off 63 balls, 5x4), number 11 batter Panna Ghosh (23 off 27 balls, 4x4), and an unbeaten half century from Fargana Hoque. While wickets were falling around her, she stood up and made 69 off 146 balls, 5x4. Which tells the story of how good the Proteas were bowling.
Dane van Niekerk with figures of 10-2-23-3 was the pick of the bowlers, she got support from Chloe Tyron (2 for 14), Mignon du Preeze (1 for 9), Marizanne Kapp (1 for 14), and Raisible Ntozakhe (10-1-21-1).
The last wicket pair of Fargana and Panna added 52 (64) to stall the inevitable.

Eventually SA got the final wicket and that ensured them winning by a margin of 106 runs
Chloe Tyron was awarded player of the match.

Summarized scores:
SA women- 270/9 (50 overs )
BD women- 164/10 (49.3 overs)

- P.S.

aklemalp/Paramanand, Thank you for the thread and keeping us updated.

BD women did well, batting is improving. Well done, Fargana Haque.
I do hope that it(batting) does not get worse from here on for the rest of the tour.

Match Report/Summary for the 2nd ODI:

After winning the toss, BD skipper Rumana Ahmed choose to bat first. They were quickly on the backfoot. SA's Ayabanga Khaka struck twice in the fourth over removing the two top-scorers in the first match for BD (Sanjida Islam 5 (11) and Fargana Hoque 0 (3)). BD never recovered from that initial setback, and as a result of that, they lost wickets at regular intervals.
By the 20th over they were already 7 down, with only 40 runs on the board. 18 year old Jannatul Ferdous, making her debut, didn't bother to trouble the scorers; she was dismissed for a duck.
If it was not for a fighting 9th wicket partnership between Jahanara Alam 18 (43 balls, 4x4) and Panna Ghosh 20*(54 balls, 2x4) BD would have been skittled out for their lowest total (eclipsing the 60 all out against the same opponents 6 years ago at Dhaka). They added 37.

BD lost their final wicket with only 89 on the board.
This was the fifth time that they were bowled out for under 100; and it was their 3rd lowest total in this format.
Bowling for SA, Ayabanga Khaka took 3 wickets for 13 runs off 6 overs; Raisibe Ntozakhe with another economical spell of bowling: 10-2-16-3. Chloe Tyron (1/5), Dane van Niekerk (1/10), and Masabata Klaas (1/16) were the other wicket takers.

SA, replying to a paltry total started off briskly. Openers Lizelle Lee 32 (37 balls, 5x4) and Laura Wolvaardt 37*( 50 balls, 4x4) added 65 for the first wicket. Salma Khatun struck in the 12th over to end the partnership. She was the lone wicket-taker for BD, and ended with figures of 4-0-19-1.
It was just a matter of formalities for SA after that, reaching their target in the 18th over, with 197 balls remaining. This was BD's worst defeat in terms of balls remaining.

SA go up 2-0 in this 5-match series. They now move to Kimberley for the 3rd and 4th ODIs.

Summarized scores:
SA women 90/1 (17.1 overs, runrate 5.24) beat BD women- 89 all out (39.3 overs), run rate- 2.23 by 9 wickets and 197 balls remaining.
Player of the match: Ayabanga Khaka

Oh yeah Zaved bro. They need all the support they can.

Unfortunately, they were thrashed by SA today
