He didn't seem streaky or edgy. Shot selection was quite good. Could've left more bad deliveries, but all in all well done. Needs more footwork though. Just first introspection.

Classy innings! but all will be destroyed if he goes early! tomorrow, all that hard work won;t come to any good! needs to stay, play patiently until he gets to his 100! than start firing get his strike rate around 45-60! and thats it would be his best innings in terms of shot selection, temperament etc.

He had a few slashes outside off (all BD batters go for the outside off balls 1 out of 10 times anyways!) .... other than that it can be his best innings ever if he goes on to score 150+ and BD win the match

Was the "Heads I win; tails you lose" style of the poll intentional, Zeeshan?

nope.... he was over defensive. I would love to see him play like this in a surface thats made for the bowlers. This was a decent surface to bat on and maintaining a 50 SR against the weakest possible bowling attack shouldnt be this difficult

It's one of his most important centuries no doubt, but the most polished one? Nah. I will put both of his 100s against England in England ahead of this.

I hope this ton gives him the confidence he's been missing when it comes to playing slower more patient innings.

He is still 2nd in his family in facing highest # of balls in an innings.

I hope he does not mess this thread up by scoring next to nothing in the next innings!

Slow innings in a semi flat wicket like this is a crime. He was totally in gear one.

If anything if there is a draw i'd blame it on him when our aim should be attacking mindset not defensive approach.
Rating wise we could have got higher. Our aim shoulda been to be up 2-0 instead of meh dekhi, 1-1 holeo hote pare approach. Occupying crease is just one aspect of Test, fluency is also needed to ensure you get your team to a commanding lead with plenty of remaining sessions to do damage instead of playing selfishly to prover others wrong. That's ghaurami! :p

So now this innings is a crime? Lol. Besides Shakib and Riyad, what did the others do? If Tamim's innings is a crime then the others should be tried for murder.
Day 1 the pitch was definitely more difficult. The ball was not coming on to the bat and Zimbabwean bowlers bowled very well. Tamim on the 2nd day scored 35 off 54 balls which equates to a 64 SR. Far better than the 30 SR he had coming in to day 2. Watch how Mominul and Riyad batted, they too batted slowly.
So looking back at this innings now is just silly. You have to look at the circumstances as well.

Agree, also tamim has been trying to play patient and score runs for ages and he's finally done it, he should take confidence from this innings.

I am astonished how we are giving a goldfish for its money in terms of memory. Have you guys forgotten how quickly BD batting collapses? If this match is a draw, credit to Tamim. Without him it would have been worse.
Being so out of touch with the reality that our team is a house of cards is not unusual, but it's not healthy.

All things considered, the best Tamim Test innings to date. He dug his heals, grit it out, carried his bat and scored a crucial century for the team. Batting for the whole day under trying conditions takes courage, application and ditermination. Also, his shot selection was almost impeccable. Dont think he offered any chance. Batting wasn~t easy on the 1st day pitch and Zim attack wasn~t "ordinary". I am really impressed and happy for Tamim.
Having said that, I think he took a little too easy in the 2nd innings --as soon as he found some form.
