Wanted to see his action. Round-shouldered or more open arms style as he runs in to bowl?

I usually don't like to be so dismissive about a player so early in his career. But, Zia is a Gadha of a cricketer. His fielding makes Abul look like a Jonty Rhodes. His "batting" is perfect for a golli T10 slog show. Souldnt be anywhere near the international cricket until he has learnt the basics of batting-
On the other hand, his medium pace bowling isn't actually all that shubby. Ariful Haque is a way better bat than Zia. Still can't believe he is picked before Sabbir!!

What a start! ODI debutei golden duck. I guess its his economy bowling thats define his prospect.
I still hope him to be with playing XI without injury. Waiting for him to see hitting that big six.

Why is this guy in the ODI squad? Based on what? He performed in T20s scoring some quick fire 20s, let him keep playing T20s. Our selectors have been doing this for way too long. This has to stop now.

Now don't be surprise to see him opening the bowling from next game
I don't blame players for getting pick where they shouldn't be and fail, but i do blame WHO Picks them, be it selectors/Coach

thought the reason he didn't bowl that much was because of his previous injuries.

124 kph, did not concede a single boundary - most economical 3.25 after 8 overs.

if he can handle bowling 10 overs i'd try him as one of the ODI specialist pacers and t20I pacer, especially with nazmul out injured. but it was my understanding that the reason he doesn't bowl much is due to injuries so he may not be capable of holding that up day after day. as far as batting goes he's really just a slogger, a bowler who on a good day can score some quick runs, just because he can hit harder than the average tail ender it doesn't make him a batsman or an allrounder.

Seam was upright, shortish run up, a good bound, high arm release, not much of a follow through.

He has a short run up but balls like how Mashrafe used to in his heydays, straight close to the wicket

when zia came into the seen he was another of those prospects who was said to be one of the quickest of BD, but again very much wayward in line.
but after injury he lost his pace and became more of a hard hitter slogger and used to play more as a lower order batsman.
recently he has started his bowling again and though he has lots the pace he maintains a very nice line and length.
if u remember his bowling against WI in that T20 ......... and also yesterday ..... it was the glenn mcgrath, shaun pollock line and length he is bowling.
and he maintain that line consistently.
rather than having somebody like raju, rubel who is so wayward i prefer to have zia as a opening bowler.
remember chris harris of NZ ???

This will totally depend upon how good he serves as a bowler. If he can deliver his quality as a bowler he will stay as an allrounder.

He is no batsmen. The way he was scared off Malinga was funny. All he needed to do was just take singles.
