Default Sumos\'s stats

Alok Kapali 4 7 1 220 52 36.66 0 1 3 0

Habibul Bashar 16 31 1 1014 108 33.80 1 9 9 0

Kapali has the best batting stats for BD at this moment. Good luck to him on keeping it. Sumon's going to roar back any day now.

Default Wow

One positive in a sea of negatives. Thank God for that. Alok seems like the type of player who can keep it up. He doesn't strike me as irresponsible, untalented and inconsistent. But then again, you never know with Bangalis. Sumon is undisputedly our best batsman, but what is happening to him of late? He doesn't even have the pressure of captaincy on which to blame his poor performance, like Tendulkar or Ganguly have/had.

Anyway, I do hope this guy comes ROARING back. If not like a lion, then at least like some other big bilai.

I think Sumon will do good if he announces his retirement now (that he will definitely retire after a season or so or that this is his last season - something like that) - when he is in 'somewhat' good form, because I don't really want him to go down with his form like Akram Khan or even Aminul Islam - the one day player.

Its best to announce your retirement after you scored something like a test or one day hundred, right? Than to retire after scoring 5 and 20 in your last ever test match, right?

Oh come on. Every player goes through some bad form. Sumon has only began. I am sure he will give us lot more, before he retires.

God I hope Sumon doesnt retire. He is still our best batsman. Why would you want him to retire after scoring a hundred? What about all the other hundreds he can possibly score. Lets face it, our team is in tatters. We need to squeeze out every bit of talent we can find. This is not the time for our players to start thinking about whether they should retire after hitting a hundred or not. Thats the sort of luxury Australia can afford. They can leave at their prime because they know they can be replaced. Our best players cant do that.

Default Yeah well...

Since none of our senior players have been able to perform absolutely brilliantly thus far, and since we are setting new negative world records in tests and ODIs (honestly speaking, Kenya should be setting the ODI records), I think we might as well drop all seniors and work with our future talent. Sumon could be an exception, no doubt, because he's pretty consistent. But he's not indispensable. Everybody else should chinga off. That includes Rokon, Bulbul, Akram, Durjoy et al. I thank and respect them for what they achieved in the past. But we can no longer waste our precious time with them now.

I am only saying this because whether Sumon scores a hundred or a duck, we are not showing that we have players to even draw a test match.
