Tamim Iqbal Khan: "We'll Win"
Quote:
"We'll win it," a cheeky Tamim Iqbal said, dismissing all thoughts the Bangladesh may need some time to get back into the groove of playing Test cricket. "If you're eating with the left hand, you won't forget to eat with the right hand. It's exactly the same - you need to prepare well, set your mindset and just play." Zimbabwe's Hamilton Masakadza, who was sitting next to Tamim during their media session had a ready response. "We'll come out guns firing too and look for the win," he said.
Zimbabwe are hoping to capitalise on home advantage. They are reportedly preparing a pitch that will have some life for the quicker bowlers, so that they terrorise the Bangladesh batsmen with short balls and counteract the threat of left-arm spin. Tamim doesn't care about any of that. "We've toured South Africa, with one of the quickest wickets in the world. We faced Dale Steyn who is one the quickest bowlers in the world," he said. "I don't think there is any Dale Steyn in this team and I don't think there is any Cape Town wicket so I don't think we will have a problem."
A teasing response from Masakazda this time. "You speak so well now," he said to Tamim, who only laughed, letting the Zimbabwean continue. "Anyway, Tamim is one of the Bangladesh players who does play the short ball well. Cricket is evolving and it's a thing of the past to say one team doesn't do this, or does do this so I don't think that will play too much of a role," Masakadza said.

Ya video will be interesting. I'd like to see the look on Hami when Tamim said 'we'll win it' and the look on on Tamim's face when Hami said 'you speak so well now!'

My 1st post in BC. I have been a regular follower of this forum but was too lazy to register and post comments. Anyway, I think the comments from Tamim might be a little arrogant and might backfire. Zim is not that weak of a side and comparing everything, we might be slightly ahead of them in terms of skills. Lets hope his words will come true!!

"We'll win it," a cheeky Tamim Iqbal said,
Is this the same Tamim Iqbal that said, "I am going to score the most runs at the World Cup", then didn't even get the most runs in the BD team? Hmmmmmm.
What I would like to see if BD try to bat for two days and bowl Zimbabwe out twice. If it is just a scrappy, hard fought win then whilst it's a win, it's not something to get excited about. If it's a draw then it will be disappointing. If it's a loss then we are some serious trouble, and after the poor batting showing in the warm up I would be concerned as coach and player.
If BD beats Zim it shows you how poor the Zim side is if BD can come from not having prepared very well and win in Harare. In this 'clash of the world's two worst Test teams' there is no real winner. Zim and BD are so far behind the rest of the top 8 Test sides that it's like Canada playing Kenya at the World Cup and no one noticing.

Lets not put preparation into this- both teams knew about the fixtures and had time to plan. BD will not get extra credit for a win, if anything i could argue that yo players are fresh and our are tired.

Ganguly said two days ago: there should be at least 2 warm up matches before any tour. You guys asked for $30k when we asked for an extra day. so yes - prep does count... and next time around when you come to BD....
we will still love you and welcome with bunch of flowers...
cause that's the type of people we are.

maybe u're right but an extra day wouldnt have helped coz we won the game in three, the wkt did not allow batsmen to spend time in the middle.

Good to see a true Zimbabwean has so muh spirit for this match. Will make the match very lively. And will make our victory that much sweeter
I'd really have loved to see a fit Mashrafee and Shafi bowl to the Flower brothers and co.

... it will only have a good ending if we win. And nobody will question.
On the other hand if we lose, people question, was it necessary to make bold remard like that?
As for me, I don't know what to expect from them, specially after their warmup match.... and with the prospect of vitually playing with 10 players.

No matter what, we have to beat Zim convincingly. Its like tying your shoe-lace. If your grown up and still cant tie your laces, you would feel embarrassed. On the other hand, its nothing to be proud of if you can tie them.

Don't agree with it:
Quote:
There's every chance that some of the cricket played here will not be of the highest quality, that if it goes the five-day distance, the bowlers will be toiling too hard and the batsmen playing defensively, that if there is a result, it could be in a three-day shootout and this match will not go down as one of cricket's most memorable because its scorecard.
