BDFlag Young Tigers National U18 Cricket Competition Jan 14 - Feb 16, 2013

The 'Young Tigers National U18 Cricket Competition', a tournament that will feature 'three-day' matches between cricketers from the seven districts of the country, will begin on January 14.

The competition, which will be contested by 10 teams and played in five venues, will be conducted with an aim to build a formidable Under-19 team for the upcoming World Cup in 2013. The players, after an age verification programme, participated in a 50-over divisional competition. Players selected from the competition were then hardened through a skill camp, following which the divisional teams were formed.

“The age level competition is obviously very important. These tournaments have resulted in the creation of a number of talented players,” said Gazi Ashraf Lipu

Group A: Dhaka South, Khulna, Rangpur, Dhaka Metro and Chittagong
Group B: Dhaka North, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Barisal and BKSP.

Venues: Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi, Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, Cricket Garden in Rangpur, the Dinajpur district stadium and the Dinajpur Boro Moidan Ground.

Semi-Finals and Final from February 14.

It is a very good initiative to play 3-days matches at the age level. It will help our young tigers to be adapted with longer version cricket.

On the contrary, BCB will select players for Under-19 World Cup 2014 which is a 50 overs tournament. I don't think it isn't the right way to select players for shorter version.

I believe BCB would pick the best 30 cricketers and train them for the world cup. If you can play 3 day cricket, you can play one day as well. Simple as that. Top initiative by BCB.

Great initiative. The more our younger players play longer version cricket at an early age, the better it is for the players. It will build better technique and temperament in the players

They'll learn. Baby steps. The key is letting them play more 3/4 dayers and adapt well to the format.

Ditto. I bet my house that most of them if not all, have never played longer version cricket before. They are extremely lucky to get this opportunity.

Any other scores?

And people are deluded if you're expecting massive scores with kids batting out an entire day. Any score about 200 will be considered a high score. Hopefully they will improve. Good initiative by BCB.

There are 3 matches taking place in different 3 stadium over North Zone of the country according to Prothom Alo. But BCB website updates scorecard of one match from Rangpur only. It is also updating irregularly.
