Default Gold Cup Final: United States vs Mexico, June 25th at The Rose Bowl

The Only Match that Matters in the CONCACAF Region, Trip to the Confederations Cup is on the line. El Tri leads the Overall Series 32–15–11, that record is a little bit skewed since the US has only managed 1 draw in 24 matches in Mexico. Mexico has only won once on US soil since 1999 and that was 09 Gold Cup Final where the US sent a B Team as the Main Teams focus was on WC qualifying and the Confederations Cup.

Rose Bowl Capacity is about 95,000, theres gonna be about 70,000 Mexicans and 25,000 United States Supporters in terms of crowd distribution but thats how it is in Southern California.

My Boy Freddy got a Game yesterday and added creativity to the US Side, allowed Dempsey to play up. Landy Cakes has come off the Bench the past 2 games but that should change for the Final.

Mexico has looked very good, +16 Goal Differential, Chicharito Hernandez leading the way with 6.

Prediction: Mexico peaked a little to early, US gets it right Saturday night and Wins 4-1. Timmy will make the big saves when needed.

Univision (univison.com as well I believe) and FSC, In Europe it's on Eurosport.

It's a nice appetizer before Copa America

Let's hope the US wins. Mexico rarely wins against the US on home soil and this time should be no different. Expecting a lot of fight from both countries.

8 months ago Freddy Adu couldn't get a club in Europe to want him. Now he's starting for the US in the Gold Cup final vs Mexico.
This is going to be a Beautiful advert for Football in general, It's gonna be very open game.

Incase you don't know, I am a big Freddy Adu fan. Excited that he's getting a chance to start again. In a Final out of all the games, hope he shows his class.

Donovan is also starting again.

Papa Bradley is going to play some real attacking football

Not as humiliating as the 0-5 scoreline 2 years ago in Jersey, but 2-4 doesn't look great either. Still falling apart in the 2nd half. We've been improving for sure, thanks to MLS and players playing abroad, but so have they. Their Primera División is genuinely great to watch now.

Never been a fan of US football, or soccer, or whatever they call it. I know they have progressed, but still no way close to being on elite level. How can you not progress when so much resource and facilities that are available? I think the biggest problem with US soccer is the regimented coaching style of kids here. It stifles their creativity and freedom of movement. The best athletes also play other sports here and mainly suburban kids take up soccer, who are probably not good enough to play football and basketball.

About the 4-2 loss: This US team is tactically naive, their defenders panic ( watch how Gio Santos toyed with six of them ! ) and they do not have a legit intl standard striker. Other than that, they are fine.

Bornstein is the number 5 trending topic in the World. Someone tell Bob Bradley.
Thats what happened. Cherundolo got injured, Bornstein came on Mexico Scores 4 goals from the left side. Lichaj the regular LB went to RB, Boca had to move too. So all in all the back 4 was a Patch work job which got exposed.

The Coach in his wildest dreams didn't think dolo would have gotten injured and didn't suit up the other viable Defenders, as he has a special relationship with bornstein. Which is a firable offense.

bottom line dolo doesn't get hurt, US wins this game 3-0, plus the referring was awful one of the Mexicans should have gotten a Red Card for Stomping on Freddy's Head when it was 2-0

All credit to the Mexicans for taking full advantage, interesting to see how Gio and Vela do with the U-23 team in Copa America

This game hurt pretty bad. To be leading 2-0 and then lose it 4-2 is disheartening. All credit goes to Mexico. They look like a very good side. I gotta say I'm impressed with Adu. Hopefully he continues to develop.
