Both Murli and Ajmal are playing for CTG. Enamul Haq Jnr is there too. CTG has the strongest spin department in BPL

Three West Indians in this side....

I may just support this team!

I read somewhere that Trinidad's Kevon Cooper was bought by Chittagong, but I don't see him on this list. Does anyone know about Cooper's status?

My family hails from Chandpur district. Am I expected to support Chittagong just because I'm from the same division?

I would like to call on the BCB to call on Game On Sports to add a Fenochacolak team as the 7th BPL franchise. Fenochacolak, you ask? Feni, Noakhali, Chandpur, Comilla, Lakshmipur!

GO FENOCHACOLAK!!!

Spin attack looks lethal with Murali and Azmal... but the pace attack is a little thin... although Bravo and taylor combo is capable of wrecking havoc...but it it is the absence of a third quality seamer that might hurt them if one of these guys get injured.
Overall a strong team along side Khulna in this competition

Not a bad squad to have. Batting is ok. Can score 200 on their day and can even get bundle for 50. Spin is their bet. Murali will be available for all the games so 99% sure he will be the highest wk take if not Shak. Pace attack is crap. If Taylor gets injured then Reza and Bravo Zia have to share the new ball. god bless.

one thing i didn't get it, why did they bought 5 spinners??? and hardly any seamer?

-Strong Top order batting
- Strong Middle order batting
-Strong spin attack
-OK pace attack

Really confused about Ajmal and Razzaq's status, it seems these two are playing for 2/3 teams. If my memory serves me right I'm pretty sure both of them were bought by Chittagong. But many of the team lists showing Ajmal playing for Dhaka and Razzaq for Rajshahi, BPL governing council needs to clear this up.

Good team none the less. Clearly we are not the strongest but our CTG team will do the same as the Rajsthan Royals of the 1st IPL.

My best XI (in batting order):

Tamim Iqbal (Icon player + VC)
Shamsur Rahman / Nasir Jamshed
Lendi Simmons / Shoaib Malik
Zahirul (wk)
D Bravo
Foisal Decans
Mahmudullah (C)
Farhad Reza
Ziaul Islam
Murali
Jerome Taylor

IMO this is the best XI. I prefer Mahmudullah than Tamim as captain, but most certainly TI will lead the squad...

Spin Bowling: Would love to pick Arafat Sunny or Enam jr but Decans and Mahmudullah (and maybe S Malik) can carry the spin department with the aid of the Spin guru Murlai.

Pace: Clearly the weakest part, but having said that - spin will be the key factor in this tournament. Also Jerome Taylor can destroy any batting line-up in his day. I believe he will be the fastest bowler in the tournement (unless Barishal picks Dirk Nannes). Zia lost his pace a bit but an asset in Lower order. Farhad Reza is also in good form.

Top Order: TI is the key player, no doubt. There are no top notch fast bowlers in other teams (No Dirk Nannes!!) - which is a big PLUS for Tamim's success. I prefer Shamsur as the second opener than pick a 5th O/S player (i.e Nasir Jamshed). And I will pick Lendi Simmons as number 3, his backup is K Cooper. Not sure why Shoaib Malik? His recent form is CRAP. If I have to plate the 5th O/S I will pick K Cooper or Nasir Jamshed instead of Malik. I will be missing two local players in top order: Nazim Uddin and Aftab.

Middle Oder: Strongest part of the team (along with Tamim factor). Experienced and steady with Bravo, Decans, Mahmudullah and my best pick Zahirul. Zahirul surely will catch some attraction in this tournament.

Lower Order: Will do great with Farhad and Zia's power hitting. Watch out for Zia - he can hit distance.

Go the CTG Kings!

It now seems that it was Kevon Cooper of Trinidad who was bought, and not Tom Cooper of the Netherlands...

If that's the case, then Cooper should be able to bolster the seam attack. He's a tricky medium-pacer who is also a hard-hitting lower-order batsman, to come to the crease when there are about four overs left in the innings.

http://cricket.bdnews24.com/details....=216476&cid=26
Dhaka (bdnews24.com/Reuters) - Former Australian batsmen Dean Jones and Michael Bevan have taken up coaching roles with the Chittagong Kings franchise in the forthcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Twenty20 competition, officials said Friday.

"We have appointed Dean Jones as our technical director and Michael Bevan as our batting coach," said Samir Q Chowdhury, chief executive officer of Chittagong Kings.

The Australian duo will team up with former Bangladesh skipper Khaled Mahmud, who has been appointed head coach of the franchise.

The inaugural edition of the BPL, which is based on the successful Indian Premier League model, will be held from February 10-28.

LOGO UNVEILED

The franchise also unveiled its team logo and introduced the team management to the press through a colorful ceremony at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.

Samir Q Chowdhury, coach Khaled Mahmud and team manager Nasir Ahmed were present on the occasion.

Samir Q Chowdhury said: "I hope the Chittagonians will hold the Chittagong Kings logo close to their hearts and support us throughout the tournament."

Don't like the Dean Jones guy very much. He is a jerk and often bad mouthed BD in the past.

Good News. Tamim would have been a terrible captain. As VC, Riyad should get some exposure captaining a team.

Nice job getting Bevan as the batting coach. Young players + Tamim can learn lot from him. He was the best ODI specialist in the 90s.
