Default I don't want to be captain - Shakib.

Shakib has made it very clear, he does not want to be captain of the team.

So why force him to be captain?

LOL. The Dullah whose position in test team is also questionable

The answer is we have no one to replace captain shak at this moment. Bring back Mash

That's 50% of what he said. He will be captain, if his demands/conditions are met.

But personally I don't want him to continue with captaincy. We need to find someone with natural ability to lead, like Mash. It could be from the young generation too. Not necessary that it has to be from the senior members.

IMO, Mosaddek is emerging as the most viable candidate atm. He's not that gifted, but seems to be able to hold his place in all three formats. Unlike Momin, captaincy is not foreign to him - he led the team in U/19 level, has led Abahani to championship last season also.

I agree. But I fear Mosaddek is still too young to take that burden on. He's still only 23. I think he could be a damn good batter for us, and I'd like to give him an extended run to just bat at #5 in all 3 formats for the next 2 years. Captain at age 26 sounds a good idea.

Sujon floated name of Akbar Ali alongside Miraz and Shadman. Who knows, the kid may be handed captaincy as well as his international debut next year...

Although the original script was in a Bengali newspaper website (Prothom Alo?) the Google translate does not do justice:

"shakib- winning cricket game is not uncle house request"*

Dhaka - Bangladesh captain has said that winning cricket game is not uncle's house request. He also further quoted: "I will do most work and rest of the team will lay eggs. Winning is not that straight. I am not hoolock gibbon that I like to lost on purpose. Elder brother please lubricate your own spinning wheel." He added: "Elder brother, international cricket is not that easy. If we do good, you praise, but if we lost, you give us thumbs up." When asked if this is the lowest performance of the team: "I don't think we have struck twelve. Elder brother, please stop the knotty discussions and try to be supportive. You people should stop doing jokes and satanism."

I like the translation, specially this: "Uncle House Request" = "মামা বাড়ীর আব্দার"

Did Saifuddin ever captained any team in his career?

He looks like a fighter and constantly improving. He has the raw material of a captain.

Riyad expressed his desire to be the next captain. Hope that will motivate Shakib to hold on to captaincy till someone competent is ready to step up.
