Key mistake in the match - Shakib allowed Nabi to settle down at a crucial stage of the match. He stacked the team with batsmen, were a strike bowler short. Situation got worse with Fizz now being so ineffective.

He wasted a slot on Soumya, who gave extra runs away, and now whose T20I batting average is 16.79.

Other issues -

1) Mushfiq gave away plenty of bye runs today. We need the team management to stop defending him and take the gloves away.

2) Sooner you find replacements for selfish players like Riyad and Sabbir, who're playing for themselves, not for the team, better.

Fizz should teach top order how to bat in a T20!

And two additional issues:

- Mahmudullah bowled well but Shakib allowed him only one over

- The key difference was AFG players' ability to hit sixes. In both matches so far, whenever the pressure built, AFG batsmen released it by hitting sixes. They are strongly built. We on the other hand cannot clear the rope. If you cannot clear the rope, you cannot win T20. Simple.

Afgans are naturally strongly built, but when Rashid Khan became Captain, he and AFG cricket board made fitness the top most priority. I read (probably in PA) that on fitness, the passing score (yoyo test and others) in AFG team is higher than that of India and Australia.

Mahmudullah is still one of the few players scoring somewhat runs. With are guys like Soumya and Liton doing? Without Dullah, we would get beaten by Zim.

I honestly don't understand why are people still picking on Mahmudullah, when he is still scoring some decent runs? Yes, he is selfish, but still miles better than most of our players.

You don't necessarily need power to hit 6s. You need to be able to pick the right ball to hit. Yes, with power AFG can get 10 sixes whereas BD might only get 6 or 7 or 8. But not a 10 to 1 difference.

Its because BD bowlers are easy to read. All finger spinners with no variation. Once you select the right ball, you can easily launch it for 6. AFG power simply makes it 10-15% more effective. 100 meter 6 is still the same runs as 65 meter 6.

Riyad did score runs, to save his own skin. But his and Sabbir's partnership derailed the chase - they didn't keep up with the asking rate and made it near impossible for batsmen followed them to chase the total down.

Oh don't get me wrong I agree with what you are saying, but I fear if you replace Mahmudullah we might get another Soumya or Liton or Sabbir type of player down there instead.

^^ I am not asking for Riyad's immediate axing either. Soumya should be the first one to go as he has been the worst player in the T20I team for longest time.

Riyad was decent at the world cup, almost won us the game against Australia. Also recall scored couple of test centuries and saved our behind against Zimbabwe. Wth has Soumya, Liton, Sabbir done?

Saifuddin with the best first ball of a match I've seen by a Bangladeshi bowler in a long time. Ball was swinging and hit top of off.
