Default Your Squad for the Coming A team tours (@ WI, vs ZIM)

Don't really follow domestic limited overs or even care to see too many new faces in our ODI lineup, but am keen to see how our domestic bullies do against the 2 teams right above us in the pecking order. Here's the 15 guys I think should make our A team squad.

Openers:

Soumya Sarkar
Shamsur Rahman

Middle Order:

Asif Ahmed
Marshall Ayub
Shuvagoto Hom
Naeem Islam
Imrul Kayes

WK:

Anamul Haque
Nurul Hasan

Spinners:

Taijul Islam
Arafat Sunny
Noor Hossain

Seamers:

Taskin Ahmed (if fit)
Abu Jayed
Al Amin Hossain

Mukhtar would be a good pick I think, mossadek is an exciting prospect but has he really done enough to get A team selection just yet? Same for sadman.

You could make a case that a few if the players like shamsur, ansmul, naeem etc are in the national squad and already have some good experience at that level (especially naeem and imrul) but really A team cricket should be used to develop these players unless we think they are a lost cause already.

After watching cricket for so many years and gaining as much knowledge as I could on Intl and domestic, I have come down with this 15 man squad for WI

1. Anamul Haque
2. Shamsur Rahman
3. Imrul Kayes
4. Rony Talukder
5. Nurul Hasan
6. Taskin Ahmed
7. Al Amin Hossain
8. Arafat Sunny
9. Enamul Haque Jr.
10. Mosaddek Hossain
11. Soumya Sarker
12. Nazmul Hossain
13. Ziaur Rahman
14. Shabbir Rahman
15. Marshall Ayub

- I don't think Naeem needs to play in A Team anymore. His performance has been phenomenal since his move to the middle order ranks and should be a regular in the Test squad ahead of Marshall Ayub.

Tbh not a fan of Marshall Ayub but have the youngsters done enough to warrant selection ahead of him? Same can be said of imrul naeem and all the ones with national experience.

Soumya I think if anyone to be left out of the squad in the first post would be the one I'd say least warrants selection.

Since the opposition is not particularly challenging I'd go for the younger guys over the ones who have already had a go.

FC:
Anamul Haque*
Shamsur Rahman
Marshall Ayub
Asif Ahmed
Nasir Hossain
Shuvagoto Hom
Nurul Hasan+
Farhad Reza
Taijul Islam
Nazmul Hossain
Shuvashish Roy

Shoumya Sarkar, Mosaddek Hossain, Arafat Sunny, Delwar Hossain

One-Day:
Shoumya Sarkar
Imrul Kayes
Shuvagoto Hom
Nasir Hossain*
Mosaddek Hossain
Shabbir Rahman
Nurul Hasan+
Muktar Ali
Taijul Islam
Nazmul Hossain
Taskin Ahmed

Liton Das, Arafat Sunny, Delwar Hossain

i think are reasons to leave out imrul and naeem but also reasons to have them in the team, thye are by no means set players in the national team or even squad so A team cricket can further develop them and give them chances to prove. but they have had a lot of chances so giving some chances to newer players could also be a way to go.

soumya is still riding on his talent no doubt, anamul is now a regular in the national team in short formats so unless there are some FC matches not much point in playing him unless it's for experience (which given the pitches in zim and WI could be a very good reason to take him).

shamsur and al amin are also regulars in the national squads now but giving them the experience might be worth it.

Soumya pushing himself out of contention, was averaging 30 at start of season now it's down to 26.
