We must have some of the most pessimistic fan base in the world , no wonder why our team is also so lacking in confidence when they tour abroad and underperform usually, how can the team fight out the tough sessions mentally if they think they are crap.

Look at Sri Lanka , they were getting absolutely smashed like a minnow since Asia Cup by teams such as Afghanistan yet they never stopped believing and eventually won in South Africa. We on the other hand think like we are some associate nation even after good wins vs big teams at home and being Asia cup finalists three times in last decade along with playing a Champions Trophy Semi Final and World Cup Quarter Final.

I think every team has a player or few who stands out and without them the team will be pretty ordinary. These players will come and go. But important thing is that you keep producing players who can take over.

So far we've been decent in that, lets see what the future bring. I rate Qais Ahmad higher than Mujeeb. In batting department, esp. OD and firstclass there are also a few very promising players coming. Time will show whether they can take the setp from domestic to international cricket. Hopefully after WC some seniors will retire and allow youngsters to come in.

Come from behind win for the Afghans.

Nabi and Rashid with a valiant 8th wicket partnership.

And then their bowlers took care of IRE

Pitch is behaving very different, also Afghanistan has 4-5 changes for almost every match. They want to give chance to everyone to prove themselves ahead of the WC

But still they are winning matches quite convincingly.

The series is 2-1 currently with 2 more matches to go.
Last match Afghanistan we're 81-6 before Ireland let them get away to 220, even Rashid Khan scored a 50

Ireland has levelled the series by winning by 5 wickets . It's 2-2 now!

And it's away from home as well

Ireland beat them 2-1 in India couple years ago I think.

But yeah, these guys will win the WC before BD.

Irelands form lately has been exceptionally weird.

Dreadful against every team except Afghanistan. Our record away from home since 2015 is now 7-6 to the Afghans, we'd have won more but for Ahmad Shah Pakteen the worst umpire I have ever witnessed who did Stirling in with an absolutely disgraceful decision yet again, third time this fella has done this. Dodgy af

But yeah, team management was absolute garbage this series with promising youngsters left warming the bench so we could play arguably two bowlers more than necessary.

Delighted with this result though. 2-2 vs these spinners in India is no mean feat at all.

Rashid its worth noting only took 5 wickets all series. If you can play the sweep well he can be maneouvred.

Congrats Donnie! This is a terrific result. Always super stoked any time the Irish beat anyone (so long as its not BD). Best wishes for the Test match!

I don't think Afghanistan took the ODI seriously. Chopping and changing to try few things out before the WC.
