Shakib is given NOC for IPL. However, he will not he allowed to play in DPL for Mohammedan even though he wants to play few matches there (while Abahani has no issue forcing Saifuddin to play with an injury).

Why is Shakib being allowed to play in the IPL with his string of injuries recently.

Hope he gets benched.

Shakib granted NOC for IPL

"Bangladesh's ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been given a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), scheduled to start from tomorrow.
"He has been given anNOC for the IPL," Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury told The Daily Star yesterday."

Sakib got injured after playing BPL
Sakib missed all of NZL tournament
The NZL tournament ended and just before BPL about to starts, he is completely recovered?
Do you think he will be injured again before Tri nation starts before May 7?
What is the chance he will be again be fully recovered before WC?

And the history repeats year after year. I understand the financial aspect of it, but still its very sad Situation. If he really don't want to play for the national team (because the money is not there), he should retire from some format (TEST, ODi may be) and just concentrate money making T20 tournaments like lots of senior stars around the world are doing.

It's hard to believe that #1 cricketer in the world is a Bangladeshi!

Shakib was talking about the bowling in the post match press conference. He believed that since Bangladesh doesn't have bowlers who could bowl 140 plus, it was easy for England to target the bowlers down the ground which was the shortest part. On the other hand, Bangladesh had to play on both sides of the wicket(because of the fast bowlers of England) and England set their fielders on the right places. This made it difficult for the Bangladeshi batsman to score runs.

Shakib shakib shakib. What a player. We are really lucky to have a player like him. Such an inspiration! If he was from australia, england or india, he would hv been the biggest superstar of the game for decades.

We need more Beyaddop and mentally strong player like Shakib rather than Vodro/Putuputu/Cry Baby type player.

So far closest youngsters I’ve seen with similar mentality to shakib are afif and maybe saifuddin.

I am really happy that finally Sakib is doing it on the biggest tournament that too in England.
I was tired all these years hearing "world class allrounder" about average allrounders just because they are from big teams and Sakib rated as a "useful" allrounder.
Now he is really showing why he is the true number one allrounder.
Alhamdulillah

Yes, for the first time since 2010, I saw him being serious about his game. Finally, he realized how much he can achieve with his talent and ability.

Sure. But taking it lightly has its advantages, a la less nerves. If one is too serious, they can get anxiety. You will see Shakib getting out many more times due to his mistimed cut shots. He can't help himself. He enjoys it. I think he is serious, but serious about having a good time out there.

If Shakib can take this raggedy Bd team to the finals, I think he will make his case for the greatest all rounder of all time. Better than Sobers, better than Kallis. Wow!

It all starts again tomorrow vs SL. Let's see if he can keep it up.
