Wtf is this ariful doing in ODI squad? Yasir Ali couldve been selected instead.

Like I said. This guy suits number 3. Very solid, compact player.
He is 22 according to CI.

Yes he should be in national team for sure.
Has performed really well, domestically, A team tours, now in BPL!

Yasir could have won the match for Ctg today, but he freaked out and started throwing kitchen sinks at everything. He still needs more maturity to handle pressure situations.

I would not recommend him to be in the national team before WC.

We could have tried Yasir Ali in the upcoming NZ series. He deserved a spot based on his performance.

But of course he does not have good looks like Shabbir, does he?

yeah I think mash did not want to do any experiment before the WC, then again when your other choice is sabbir whats the harm in experimenting

The same could be said of Mushfiq yesterday, even after all his experience and ability he didn't finish the game. So unfair to target Yasir only. He has outperformed our other seniors like Mahmudullah and Tamim this tournament.

And unlikely that Sabbir '24 Average' Rahman has more maturity in handling pressure situations. After all he cannot even handle fan pressure let alone pressures of a match.

The biggest fault of Yasir is he couldn't capture the heart of Mashrafe before team selection otherwise he would be flying to New Zealand right now instead of Sabbir.

Should start off debuting him in T20s as he slowly gets the feel of international cricket.

World Cup is too close to debut him now as we should just focus on the core group we have, but he definitely should be debuted after the tournament.

Take a risk and take him to world cup. Liton Soumya and Shabbir do not give me much confidence. A backup would be good especially for Soumya. What was the point of the Ariful experiment? Did he do anything of significance?

Ariful got barely any chances, complete waste having him in the squads the last 6 months.

He is alright tbh. It goes without saying that we all hope that the country roads take him to the BD dressing room and he performs well.

Found this interview as well.

Yasir Ali says his dream since childhood is to become a great Test player , not just in Bangladesh but in the world.

Now that is an attitude one usually won't see in this day and age among youngsters

Last few innings 65,32 not out 106 not out 38, 39 not out 61 not out and 30 runs. Total 371 runs strike rate pretty decent.

He scores run in each and every format at domestic level that is so great to see, not many players can be equally good in all formats

His stats are just ridiculous..... playing for the second last team, he is averaging 139 and scoring at a rate of 100+. Makes me wonder why isnt he batting higher up. But I think he is definitely making the trip to the tri-series. you have so many gambling pieces in the side in Soumya-Liton-Mithun-Sabbir-Miraz.... Yasir cant be a bigger gamble at this point

Those players who are destined to succeed will succeed even if they make debut in the world cup, those who don't have that destiny will fade away even if they make debut vs Zimbabwe/West Indies at home (ie the complete package)

They must take him at least as the backup batsman , he can be what Inzamam was to Pakistan in 92, the surprise package in our side who no one has seen much of.

Yasir and Mosaddek need to be picked for the tri series and given long Ryan in the top 6. Hacks like Liton and Mithun need to be dropped. No idea who’s idea was it to bring Mithun into the side in the Asia Cup. Wasted a spot with his slow half centuries.

Biased comments. Can you proof with numbers that Mithun did bad?
