Default Ayub Bacchu is no more!

The legend of Bangladeshi band music Ayub Bacchu is more. He was 56 years old and died due to a cardiac arrest.

Terrible loss for Bangladesh. Grew up listening to this songs... So many favorites and now gone forever

Growing up in the early 90's, it was always miles and LRB (also Warfaze) for most Bangladeshi kids. Ark and James became famous a few years after (also in 90s). Miss those days. "Shei Tumi" was one of the first songs that I could perform with my guitar. While I never got to know him, but his music will always bring back fond memories of the 90's. Will miss him always.

Thanks for letting us know. how sad. Didn't realize he was 56. Time flies. I wonder how long he was stuck in traffic to arrive at the hospital. Seeing dhaka traffic, ignorning multiple sirens, i always wondered how does one person go from one place to the hospital in an emergent situation when half an hour can mean the difference between life and death.

SAD!

Rest in peace, never knew him personally but watched few concerts live.

Also was a fan of his playing. Once saw him in Baily Road at Panna Azam's studio while we were recording some songs. I think that was 1990.

My school friend Bappi was very close to him. AB tuned and sang lot of his lyrics and made them hit. One example, Ekhon Onek Raat

Top 50 Bangladeshis of all time.

An icon. I don't listen to many Bangla songs, but I have quite a few songs of Bacchu's that I like.

We belong to You and we will return to You. Rest in peace. My second concert was LRB's concert in early 90 just before I left BD. I think it was LRB's 3rd or 4th concert.

This is the sorry state of Bangladeshis in general... Always have to be judgmental. I would say ignore them.. ignorance is bliss.

This is my story. '96 I visit Dhaka. Right before my return flight my Boro Chacha passed away in Khulna. My Dad being the second, they were together most of their lives, wanted to join his Janaja (From Dhaka) but then he would be missing my departure. I and my dad were very close. I told him, "Why are you worrying? We will have plenty of opportunity meet again. Go to Khulna and it is your responsibility." He left Dhaka and we didn't say our goodbyes.

Fast forward a year, drastically within three days my Dad got sick and passed away. I couldn't make it on time. Little Rock > LA > Singapore (11 hours stop over) > (Bought a new ticket) Bankkok > Dhaka. 2.5 days. At least I came to attend his janaja put him down in the grave. (In those days, we didn't have viber/whatsApp. Phone call would cost you $4-5 a minute, which was much less than $7-8 from '91. We use to communicate via good old fashion letters.)

The Moral of this is, as children we may face difficulties which is beyond our control. Our intention is pure. Circumstances may not allow it. There is no "chi chi" to it. We try our best.

Thanks for sharing your experience TE bhai. Sorry to hear about your chacha.
As Ayub Bachchu's children turned up for his final janaja, everything I said are now moot points.

A true legend. Perhaps the best guitar player from BAN. Rock, jingles, playback - he was noteworthy everywhere. I'm still surprised to the fact that he produced so many popular songs with LRB.

May his soul rest in peace.
