This is more than a decent total. I expect us to have a first innings lead. Watch this space!

This is not an easy pitch. WI will find out when they come to bat, but it will be our spinners. I think only Chandarpaul will find it comfortable.

Abul Hasan's previous highest FC score was 61.

We need to be patient bat at least till the drinks break and see if we can stretch the total to 400. We should then be in a very good position because this wicket is as low and slow as they come. Won't be easy for anyone to score runs (as our top order displayed). WI have a pace based attack that won't get any assitance from this pitch, but our spinners might thrive, especially if they bowl wicket to wicket.

I liked Rohan Gavaskar's commentary. Shamim was his usual self.

Anything after 230 was a plus. Don't get greedy and ask for 400 and what not bullshit like always. That's why we fold so quickly.

Prothom alo hinting Best might have picked up an injury and Abul injured a finger of his left hand as well.

One thing that stuck out in Abul's interview was his next goal was 'to help Riyad get his century'. Refreshing to hear, unlike some others who would be content with their personal milestone.

Didn't read the report but I wont be surprised if Alo is reporting this based on what they saw as Abul walked off last night lol. He was just rubbing his finger as he walked off. I remember because I thought to myself "probably got a blister, this is probably the longest time he's ever batted."

I am just curious if Abul hurt is finger and also does the batting job...and also have arduous task of bowling to get wickets..what other 10 will or may be 8 will do in the fields...are they playing just to show off their physique. I am tired of the non performers and overall consistent team's performance

Correct. If spinners can bowl with variation on speed and length then WI will find it difficult to score. The back of length deliveries were not carrying yesterday and that made WI pacers to bowl on full length. This wicket will certainly start deteriorated from day 3. So there are chances up for grab for BD if Shakib, gazi and others can deliver.

I will be happy if we can get to 400. That's a good enough first innings total.

Gillespie didn't come in at number no.10, if Abul came around 3-4 then maybe that 200 would have been possible
100 between lunch and tea, then another one after tea.
