He should.
One match isnt good enough to judge someone. Give him the whole series first.
Frozen feet at debut match ? It could happen.
Lack of footwork ? If he lacks in some technical abilities, I'm sure the coaches will work with it.
Wish we had a batting coach like Jamie Siddons who transformed I-charge-down-the-wicket Tamim into who he is today. Our batting unit looked whole lot better at the end of Siddon's tenure than what he had to begin with. Anamul's 41 was shaky to begin with but looked good as it progressed.
Will be a big test for him tomorrow, specially after WI team had a look at him and would also want to focus on that footwork issue.

Technically ALL of the batsmen have work to do. Anamul will blossom.
For once, let him develop. There's too much tendency for fans to judge and dissect players on a performance or two then discard players. Australia, SA, England, India.. the top countries in cricket, all have had 30s aged players and upwards as key contributors. Bangladesh has none. Far too quickly sometimes are players thrown onto the 'fans' scrapheap.
Make sure Anamul isn't one of them before he's barely started!

Someone should frame it and give it to Anamul, that will definitely inspire him to do better...
Lets see what he does in this series.

I think the most important thing as people have pointed out here is the fact that he has great hands speed and hand eye coordination. Those 2 are musts in order to succeed at this level. If you don't have those 2, then it'll be very hard to be successful at the highest level. Also he seems to have a good mindset and temperament which is also very important in a player. Every player has their fair shares of issues, it about working on them and continuing to fine tune your technique so that you can sustain success at the highest level.

BTW, it sucks to be the OP after Ian's endorsement.

Thanks coach. The fans here are just so quick to jump into conclusions!
Anyway, great to see Anamul has not taken too long to answer his sceptics!

great innings, people need to calm down, a century with a strike rate of over 80 isn't bad even in ODIs. anamul held this innings together had we had SN, nazimuddin, junaid and even imrul we probably wouldn't have managed the score we got.

Great reply to his critics in his 2nd match. yes he could have done better but lack of experience and plus batting with another inexperience player didn't help him much either. at one stage his SR was 80+ until 85, went down to 72 to get to 100 as wk fell, lack of exp and batting with another inexperience batsman. But, he made it up very well end the end. so can't complain much

coach called it, so kudos to him too. Hope Anamul keeps it up. If he played as a keeper too, the last sentence could have had two meanings :P

I think we would have been happier with a 250 in 43 overs. Too bad Anamul did not accelerate and get out earlier.

Not only he will survive, this boy one day will make Tamim look ordinary (which probably will be a good thing for Tamim himself)

I hate to be the one to say I told you so... but I told you so. This lad is pure class...
I cannot believe one suggestion he should be dropped to "teach him a lesson" for slow batting. The lad scored 120 and the team made almost 300.
THE BOY IS 19 YEARS OLD for heaven's sake.
Let's hope this innings has given the lad all the confidence and belief he needs to go on and settle into the team. Just the start of great things to come.
Just as long as we don't have fool fans making stupid comments and putting pressure on this batting treasure.

Some people can say, he is kid or he just protected one side. But if he is appraised after this selfish innings, he will never learn the importance of the team man. Ashraful is the greatest example.
|
why so upset he is a new kid but did a very well job, think if he wasn't score that much run we probably wouldn't reach even 250 considering our chronic collapse style. He is a good found, he knows how to approach the innings. Look at west indies they tried to play too many shots and a big marginal defeat, so whats the point. We needed for a long time Anamul kind of batsman who really understand the game, not the fun game the real game.
