BanglaNews24 Report: Siddons to be Sacked after AUS series

That was what supposed to happen after such a poor performance by the team......does not matter how hard the coach tries.....all blame is always imposed on the coach at the end of the day....well thats our nature!!! If Jemmie did whatever he wanted during his tenure then why did BCB extend his contract till june 2011?

You think it's the coaches fault? It's not Siddons fault theres no brains in bangladesh cricket. The talent in the country of 150 million people like we keep dreaming of isn't there. Bengali people aren't really exceptional at anything. We need to start looking for talent overseas instead, like the Imran Tahirs and the rejects of other national cricket teams. They can play much better than the shitty players we have now.

Shame on you Bangladesh fans and management. Players are exulted in success and the failure is only the coach's responsibility!!!!!! This has been the history of Bangladesh cricket. No matter what you teach, the 11 of a particular match are responsible for performace. Even if you bring the best coach of the world you can't perform because Bangaldesh players lack that temperament and need a bit more skill. Let them be men and accept the responsibility. Let the fans too admit that Bangaladesh didn't deserve a spot in the quarter final. This will be the first step for future success.

Totally agreed. Coach can not play the game for the players so why he has to go. Players should be penalized with their match fee. We need a good domestic infrastructure and invite best bowlers to participate so that we can groom young talents. I cant imagine players like Nayeem have centuries in domestic league.
We can keep JS for academy or for test matches.

"Nachte na janle uthan baka"...da motto of our BCB....
Kono dosh hoilei, its the coach to be blamed - ei mentality thakle jiboneo desh er cricket er unnoti hobe nah...when you are disgusted, you try to find the next possible person to blame....I am not saying Jamie is an angel, all i am saying is that....IF you can blame him for all faults, he should therefore be given due respect for whatever he has done for the Bangladesh team ...now shoudnt this be fair...?
Players der vul dekhbe na kew...management er vul dekhbe na kew...the coach does not go and play on the field, his apprentices/players do....but off course, nijer vul ke dekhe...!!
I don know, whats in siddon's fate...but yah, i know that i respect him for what ever achievements our team got from his tenure...

This is the nature of profession sports. But there is justification here.
You can drop a player or two for continued bad performance or negative impact on the team. When the WHOLE team fails twice in a world cup in the fashion we did, the person taking the fall HAS to be the HEAD COACH.
With the same mistakes being repeated, it means one of three things.. (1) The coach did not get the players he wanted, (2) He did not teach/coach/prepare successfully or (3) He is unable to get through to these players.
Now there was never a doubt about the ability of the players in the XV. They whitewashed a Kiwi side, beat an English side and as most of Siddons-apologists/defenders will tell you are a far more improved BD side than any other imaginable. So that leaves 2 or 3. Either way, the Head Coach needs to be changed. Whether its a sacking or not extending the contract thats just details.
Personally, now that the decision is made about not extending and if the AUS result has no impact on his future with BCB, there is no need to keep him around for those 3 matches. IP and JF have enough experience to manage without him for a 3 ODI series until a decision is made on his replacement.

I have to say I am puzzled why BCB want Siddons to stick around for another series, if they have made up their mind not to renew his contract! Let the guy go!

Is that necessary to prove that we are uncivilized? His contract has not been renewed, so why we need to sack him. He will leave anyway. fficeffice" />

Its not a matter of contract terms or anything. Its just that the Aussies come here on the 4 of April that is literally two days after the world cup final. So they don't want the team to be without a coach for that.

you missed the fourth option: (4) The players are just not good enough.

Why blaming only coach? BCB, Players, Selectors all have to share the responsibilities now. Current BCB administration bangladesh cricketkey pongu kore felechhe. We need a deep cleaning if we want our cricket to be survived IMO.

Siddons has already taken enough money and done enough damage to Bangladesh cricket. His departure was always on the card since he tried to make a Golla out of Ashraful. He survived all these years only because we, both the BCB and fans, suck in professionalism.

Well, now that he knows he does not have a future in Bangladesh, it may be quite possible to work out a deal with him (pay him half of the salary that BCB owe him for the remaining of the contract or something like that). In this situation, dragging him along the team won't be beneficial for the team (or him).

Tutul is talking about this! He seems to be an ambassador of Bangladesh cricket these days. A former national team football player playing important role in national cricket!!! Only possible in Bangladesh!!! Politics at its worst!!!

What I ve obsereved in Bangladesh cricket is its hastiness and throughout it has been seriously overrating itself. It was hasty for test status when it was not evena quarter of a decent side and Greenidge had to pay for being realistic about Bangladesh's standing then.
What the fans and the management must realize now is that Bangladesh is still not up there. It has certainly improved a bit thanks to being part of the big league for more than a decade and because of the committment of the management, coaching staff and the players themselves.
But the improvement will be slow. My suggesstion is that this coach and the team must be retained until the next World Cup and I am sure Bangladesh will pull off a surprise.
