One more game and we do need some break.
Seems like our boys are not mentally matured enough to deal with pressure situation.
World cup cooked them over and they are yet to recover from it.
Now the hangover is still lurking around.

we are the same place with some improvements ...... they way recovered from being 5 down to 230 was some improvement. the main problem is way seldom get the best of most of the players. today perhaps mushfiq played his best, shahriar nafees tried hes best, and mahmudullah but others failed and we got 230, which is 70 runs short of what we could have got if we got everything right.

and when somebody like watson plays his best ..... no attack in the world can stop him. if we had the best bowlers in the world we could not have defended it

today we were down by magical innings and we could not have done anything

actually before the WC it has been a blend of our improvment and our opposition's poor performance,
NZ played very poor cricket & Zim are weaker than us,Eng in WC were struggling ,lost to Ireland.

For us to win against good oppositions we need them to play bad cricket,as simple as that.

But for now I agree with Rabz that we need a break & we will get it looks like.

I was merely referring the World cup situation.
Our team playes bilateral/tri series tournament on a regular basis.
But the weight of expectation during the World Cup was too much for them to bear and it shows.
Being the host nation and also our back to back series win prior to the world cup lofted our expectation to a new height and that cooked the players off.
They are still recovering from that.

Batting line up for next match:

1.Tamim Iqbal
2.Imrul Kayes
3.Shariah Nafees
4.Mahmudullah
5.Shakib Al Hasan
6.Mushfiqur Rahim
7.Shuvo
8.Alok Kapali/ Shuvagoto Hom
9.Shafiul Islam
10.Abdur Razzak
11.Rubel Hossain

12th man Shuvagoto Hom/Alok Kapali- play them when razzak is not bowling. Razzak is fat and hopeless at fielding.

When you have players like Rakibul Hasan in the team, it's hard to move forward.

We need a big change in mentality from the players, the team management and fans. Excuse culture must be got rid of. Look at Shane Warne. That old guy wins matches with no names in his side. We need a motivator like him as our head coach. The players (not those XV only) have the physical ability; it they are handled properly, we can fight against any oppoisition and win regularly.

Actually it is not Roq's fault. When he played that match-losing innings in the practice match, I wanted to drop him. In cricket attitude is a very important thing. When he was selected ahead of Alok and Hom based on this innings, he got the wrong message from the selectors that he can play for saving his own a## than for the team.

They aren't the only people who have this hangover. Many professional athlete's can succumb to the pressure.

Anyways, I think the players need a rest. They are mentally worn out after an up and down couple of months. I wish this series was delayed to allow for some rest.

Bd basically needs to stop playing cricket. The taklu needs to be thrown out of coaching and Sakib needs to resign from captaincy. Scrap all their tours for a year. If we dont , ICC would anyway.

This watson could have scored 300 today.Man is this embarrassment or what??

exactly..The brainless selectors, they have cowdung in their brain. The should have played Alok and Hom in place of Rakib and Razzak. Too many left arm spinners are too much predictable. And rock 29 balls run one is killing us, taking us nowhere..

Australia played longer than Bd in WC and they are touring not Bd. How come they are not worn out??

Our hopeless crap team needs to be thrown out from everything, and save from embrassment.

I think the boys played reasonably well today, coming from 88-5 to score 229 against an Australian team is no mean feat. And I don't think there is anything the bowling side can do when a batsman plays as well as Watto played today, the way he was clearing the boundary was absolutely unreal.

I think it would be extremely unfair to say that we have not developed/improved. Most of the batsmen are now technically better compared to any previous team, the mental strength has also increased. if you look at the number of close games Bangladesh has pulled off, you would understand that. The bowling unit, specially the pace unit is better than ever before.

But the reality is, still we are quite a way behind the big 6 teams, we still need heaps more consistency from our batsman to become a real force in world cricket, and you meant this by "reality check".
