Default ***Richard Pybus***

The next BD coach?

He was with Papon during the Rajshahi and Chittagong match.
It is usual to see a coach attend BPL matches - when they come for the interview.

I think BCB wants him.

Thoughts on his potential appointment?

Richard Pybus on shortlist to be Bangladesh coach

Richard Pybus arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday to be interviewed for the position of Bangladesh's head coach. He is no stranger to the role, having been in charge for a few brief months in 2012.
Pybus, who was seen sitting with BCB president Nazmul Hassan and watching the second BPL game of the day at Shere Bangla stadium, is on a shortlist of candidates the BCB is hoping to meet in the near future. ESPNcricinfo understands that former West Indies coach Phil Simmons is one among that list...

Change the Test captain. That should be the #1 priority. The coaching staff we have, are more than capable on devising a plan for SLan series. THEY CANNOT make the ON FIELD decisions.

Guess Pybus is leading the the choice.

According to Daily Star, Phill Simmons is also in contention.

Last time Pybus joined briefly and then quit complaining about BCB's interference as a reason. What makes him think that this time it will be different i.e. there will be no interference from BCB?

He must be desperately looking for job.

And now looking back, how silly some of the people here asking for Haturi's head sounds like. Immature. "jare dekhtey nahi tar cholon baka."

We can't appreciate what good we have. That is why it goes downhill after a little bump.

He was Director of our cricket. He saw some talents coming through: Shai, Chase, Blackwood, Bishoo in a more prolonged stint...

Will he go after Shakib/Tamim/Mushy/ Ullah if they don’t abide by his criteria/requirement?

He went after West Indies seniors, Pollard/Bravo/Sammy because they didn’t meet his requirements.

I think that will be the biggest issue.

Am I mistaken or has Pybus been unemployed for the past five years? It seems he had no coaching commitments since quitting the Bangladesh post in 2012.

Looks like BCB is looking to hire a pitbull rather than a poodle. That is not a good news to senior players or fans who wanted Haturu out.

But what they end up hiring is a different issue.

Feeling bad for Mushy..He was crying when Hatu told him to field at a place where mushy doesn't like fielding. And didn't he say that "ja hoy bhalor jonno hoy" after Hatu quit?

If pybus gets the job, this poor guy will be out of the frying pan, into the fire

Not a fan of Richard Pybus move. I mean he had an opportunity at coaching Bangladesh, and he quit.

Simmons wont be a bad option. But if that means his buddy gets prolonged stay as BD bowling coach, then problems!

There’s too much politics within the team.
The seniority attitude/influence/thugness needed someone authoritative.

Papon must have thought, who can I bring in that will keep the boys under control?
Who can be like a head master, strict disciplinarian..

Who better than a proven Richard Pybus? Authoritative? Yes. Disciplinarian? Yes.

You got it. that's the feeling I got from Papon last summer when he was talking with other people. He is aware of inside politics by senior players. He mentioned that our players are not as professional as other leading countries, they need constant babysitting (that's not the exact term he used though, but similar meaning) all through the year.

After any lengthy break players comes unfit. Multiple players ignore coach's instruction, make same mistakes repeatedly.

I am 100% sure he will try his best to bring another strict disciplinarian.
