Default Clarke in doubt for one-dayer after fall

Source

Australian batsman Michael Clarke is in doubt for the opening one-day match against Bangladesh after slipping and hitting his head entering the hotel pool. The 25-year-old fell during a post-training recovery session late Saturday at the Peninsula Hotel in Chittagong. He needed 13 stitches to the back of his head but was understood to be up and walking around following the incident. A decision on his availability for the match will be made on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile World Cup aspirants Dan Cullen and Mitchell Johnson have the chance to show off their wares in the first clash of the three-match series. Cullen will make his debut while left-arm pacemen Johnson has his third start after being touched up in New Zealand and South Africa in his previous outings. Australia has chosen a dual spin attack of Cullen and veteran Brad Hogg for the Chittagong Divisional Stadium where pace bowlers claimed only four of the 24 wickets to fall in the recently-completed Test.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting said the Tigers were a more formidable outfit over 50 overs with the home side having recorded a shock five-wicket win over Australia in Cardiff last June.

"They have come out and said they are a much better one-day side than they are Test side and that is the nature of the game, it brings sides closer together," he said. "They have a little bit more success in one-day cricket than Test cricket. They will be ready for it no doubt about that. They have had a couple of days to be away from it and freshen up."

I am feeling sorry for Clarke. A very unfortunate incident. Hope he will recover soon.

Bash is very positive now-a-days that's a good sign. I heard Tush is in! Everyone would welcome Ash; if he can deliver (not spins). Mash is getting good results; I see good dedication and commitment in him. It's good to see Aussies are fighting very hard to win every game. 2nd test had all batting pitch? BUT BD surrendered to the technique. Rafique played wonderful. He will get player of the year award again. We want his service for many years.

Default Pitch Report

I just saw an article in the daily Ittefaq that the pitch will be little bit on slower side but flat. This is the pitch where SL scored 300+ in last tour and BD scored 231 chasing that huge total. Ball will come little late to the bat. Apart from little slowness, everything will support a batsman.

So, if we win the toss shold bat and try to score 250+. Then try to ball in good line and length to restrict free scoring shots. The most important thing would be not dropping a single chance. Mash will definitely need to hold those cathes.

About the toss question- if it has rained last night (even a little) and the cloud cover is there in the morning, we should field first. Otherwise, bat first.

I am not so happy about today's team. Seems like we are keeping winning team from last Kenya match. Ashrafool should have been kicked out of the team. If we think he is prospectus and he deserves to be in the team then, what will happen to those faces who are also promising and looking for an opportunity. Ashrafool is just a waste of space atm. He needs electric shock. I don’t see any valid reason but overwhelming speculation on Ash doing good today.
My equation is plain and simple... "If you are not doing good, you are out of team. Try your best in the league, do well and come back. Meanwhile, we keep trying new faces..."

Default lets kick some kangaroo-butts

To be honest, Aussies got no real strength now. Apart from ponting himself none got regular runs nowadays. On top of that, they are facing a different team today (a grown up tiger... ha ha ha). Aussies got typical bowling side. Chashing their total may give us a chance to beat them once again. I am looking forward to win a ODI series against Aussies. Go Bangals!!!
