Just little bit worried that the rise in his average is flatting out lately. Needs to add couple more shots in his armory, especially the pull shot.

talk about a case where first impression was ALL wrong - I remember watching that 20/20 game where zunaid and the other Mohammedan opener went great guns and Tamim was a flop. I thought he was just a slogger. Boy do I, and joyfully at that, stand corrected.

When everyone was excitied about his 50 against India, I wasn't. He had the agression and the potential but the way he was going about it was much to ametuerish. Glad to see that he turned out to be a level-headed young man. No more dancing down the track in the first few overs to score his flashy fours (or getting out in the process).

Atahar Ali still has a better average of 29.55.

25-30 giya stable hoisey... Well we had couple of other players whose avg was also close to that and if i mention their name i might get banned from BC lol
Anyway good luck Tamim...
Some one in another thread mentioned we need to try Aftab as opener instead of trying out SN. I liked the idea. but before we can do that Aftab needed to be tried in A and academy team in that position...

This is the first time I am so happy to be proved wrong. I was dead againest his inclusion (even suggested that he got chance for Mr Akram) and not at all impressed on his fifty. But he forced me to change my opinion. I hope Aloukik Kapali, Tusher Imran could do that.

Of course there's hope. He's been getting starts almost everyday and the conversion rate hasn't been too bad. A couple of 20's don't necessarily imply a dip.

Which cousin ?
His brother came with a lot of promise. Only young BD player who survived BIYE successfully is Masri. It's like kryptonite for the rest of them.

I read in nwspapr Jamie Sid said that Tamim is his best student.
Indeed he always looks very much focused on the game pln & team rules. He is highly motivated & plays with style, good footwork etc.
He has modified himself, from aggressive to defensive, despite the fact that he didnt get a good opning prtner he still is doing fine.
So all the bst to Tmm.
BTW I think we better bring J Omr or let Raqibul open.

it was fun, but idiotic and short lived. its actually amazing to see such a turnaround in the positive direction. i don't think any batsman has ever done it from any team as quickly.
i am interested to see raqibul's average 18 months from now. will it remain 30+, fall to the mid 20s, or be heading towards 40?

I agree, and I think he needs to acquire a decent cut shot ASAP too. He's good at handling short of a length deliveries when they're close to his body because he can stand tall and drive powerfully through the covers but he's hapless against deliveries of that length when they're outside off stump. Particularly when there's a bit of extra bounce in the surface.
I hope I'm wrong but I expect that line to have dipped to a lot closer to 25 by the end of the Australia tour.
